I need to plug a few small drill holes above water line (cockpit). Was going to use marine-tex. Should I glass the backside of holes? |

I guess it would depend on the size and location. I have used West 610 epoxy on drill holes in the inside part of the gunwales (by the storage bins). On a hole I made in the roof, I used regular epoxy and a nylon hole cap.
On vertical surfaces I put painter's tape on both sides to contain the epoxy while it sets. On horizontal surfaces, just on the bottom side. |

For small holes MarineTex should work--but I have had some yellow with time. A small amount you can probably gel coat over, after sanding. _________________ Bob Austin
