Does anyone know the part number for standard windshield wipers on a Tomcat?
I think it AFI 37100 which is an 80 degree sweep. The AFI 37200 is 110 degrees.
I want to get this on order ASAP and didnt check the sweep radius. |

I ordered the following two items for mine -
35212 Deluxe Adjustable Pantographic Arm, 12" to 17" $53.06
35174 Marinco, AFI-1000 Waterproof Wiper Motor, 110°, 1-1/2" Shaft $118.81
The first numbers are the SKU from Go2Marine. The prices are from Aug of 2016. The sweep is adjustable. The angle is preset at the factory but can be changed by opening it up. Read the directions 2-3 times prior to making any changes and open up the one you are replacing to set the new one up to be identical. It will make your life easier. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

I replaced both motors on Journey On, described here: C-25 wipers. Since the windows are the same it should be applicable to a Tomcat. I used Marinco AFI 1000 Wiper Motor with a 1.5" shaft, P/N 36181 wipers. I didn't retail the pantograph and it's worked well. Those motors cost ~$90 last year.

The prices seem to have really increased.
I'm wondering if I could reuse my Pantographic Arm. Any thoughts? |

You can re-use it. Mine had a little rust on it and it was such a pain in the neck to take thing apart and replace the motor, I thought it was wisest to just do the whole shebang at once. |

Boris - Can you explain your comment in the linked post "Ground a slot down the side and removed the arm"?
what tool did you use?
I tried to replace my AFI motor yesterday and could not get that off! |

That comment just means I couldn't pull or work it off so I took the die grinder and ground the side of the arm off. Once there was some of the arm attachment ground off I just pulled it off. One doesn't have to destroy the spline on the motor shaft, just get down to it. The arm head is pot-metal, which explains the problem.
Don't forget to protect the gel coat surface whilst you're grinding away.
The replacement wiper motors swing angle could be set to a variety of angles between 40 deg up to 90 deg.

Of course if you have to destroy the arm to get it off, you'll need new one. In retrospect, I think that's why I ordered the arm and the motor at the same time - just in case. |
