We are finally getting the camper canvas for the Anita Marie from Canvas Riggers. The folks that have already had them installed, are there anything that you would have done differently. Would you get the heavier Sunbrella material for the top? They will be able to start in a couple of weeks which is nice. When I last inquired in August they had a 2 month wait.

HI Fred, I can't think of much I would have them do differently. I had them install an extra set of fasteners for the S/S up near the bulkhead so you can store the collapsed S/S up against the back of the cabin when you need to. I think you had done the same on your 22. There are a lot of pieces (4 per side and one stern piece) plus the privacy curtains. But it goes together very nicely.

Are you up for our second annual trip to Sucia Is. in either early Jan or Early Feb.? (Be on Maui 1/15-33). Have to look at the weather and try for another snow storm like last year.

Patty here. We absolutely love our Canvas Riggers camperback. It is so versatile---all the windows roll up so you can keep it up in warm weather and yet have the cockpit open. I love that feature. It's very well made and goes up easily now that we have our "system" down.

Thanks Patty and David. Would you have the canvas top made of a heavier material? Canvas Riggers had done that on a few boats and I am not sure if yours were one of them.
David I am up for a trip in February. We could start calling it the annual snow cruise with 4 to 5 footers.

I didn't know heavier Sunbrella was an option, but I can't thnk of any reason we would need it heavier than it is...

Fred,
I don't know about an option for heavier canvas, but you can get a heavier grade of glass for the windows. We ordered it because it is supposed to have a longer life.

Patty is right, the multiple pieces seems like a jigsaw puzzle until you get used to it. After we developed a system we could get the canvas up and down pretty quickly. We like the variability of the setup. I can't think of any downside to their design.
