New member here. Just starting our search for our next boat. We have been boating for many years but always of the aluminum jet powered variety. We're looking for a change of pace with a boat we can do overnighters, hit the high lakes and salt when the weather allows. The 19' Angler seems like it would fit the bill nicely.
Would love any leads that may be out there or anyone close by that would be interested in showing their boat to us as there doesn't appear to be any 19s around for sale locally. Sportcraft in Oregon City tells me they can order but would love to see one live ahead of time or find a great deal on a gently used boat. Thanks all in advance!

I would recommend going with a 22, especially for two people overnighting. I have noticed many c-brats starting with 16s or 19s, and when its all said and done they end up with a 22. There is a 19 moored here in Garibaldi. I don't know the owner, but you could see quite a bit of it from the dock.

The 22 or 25 is what I would recommend for the simple reason that you mentioned overnight and I assume long weekend cruising. We have spent weeks at a time both on the 22 and 25, and they will be easier to sell at some point also. The guys and gals at Sportcraft Marine are first class and honest with excellent service ! I also recommend the 22. The weight is little more than a 19, the size truck to tow is little different--but the "livability" for more than the occasional night aboard is much better.

As above, many have bought 19's and shortly moved up to a 22. The 25 becomes a different animal--mostly because of its weight. There you either need a large 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton truck to tow. Having towed 25's behind a 1/2 and 3/4 ton SUV, I vote for the 3/4 ton with a diesel.

The advantage of the 25 mostly is the enclosed head, the increased storage, and a better ride.

Don't believe the "factory weight" on any of the boats. Yes, a lot depends on how they are loaded for cruising. But generally the 22's are going to be in the 3,600# to 5,000# range, The 25" 6,500# to 8,000# range.

Thanks all for the input. I should clarify. "Occasional Overnighters" is what we're looking for as the boat will primarily be used for fishing. Trust me when I say I understand 2'itis..........again appreciate any leads or info from any 19' owners out there.

I would say that if you are going to do a lot of boat camping, go with the 22. I use my 19 strictly for fishing & the v berth for gear. I find the 16 too small for my taste & a lot local of sea conditions. True, many start with a 16 or 19 & move up to a 22 but there are some that start with a 22 & move down. Good luck in your search & decision. If you find yourself on the n.calif coast I'll be happy to give you a 19' tour but Riley Rose also not for sale.

Welcome to the site, Backlash. When I was up there at Sportcraft Marina earlier this summer, Salesman Tim offered to contact a local customer w/ a 19 to take a look at if we had wanted. I was not that serious about the 19 at the time. You might check w/ Tim to see if there is a 19 local to you.

I'd say a 22 also, especially if you are looking at a new boat. They hold their value better because they are more common.

But keep that jet boat!! There's nothing like it!!!
