Hello all,
I have an older model Tohatsu 9.8 kicker motor that recently seems to not want to stay in the upright (not in use) position. The motor sticks out on an aluminum garelick and is precarious at best to operate. I was wondering if anyone has rigged up a power tilt trim remote throttle system to their older "manual" kickers? I've seen this set up on many of the newer boats and was wondering if the older models could be retrofitted in the same manner.
Thanks,

There are number on the market--but some home made have used the Lenco Marine actuator with a 4/1/4" stroke .
Troll master for the throttle. There are several other makers, but Troll master seems to have the best reviews. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks Bob. My research so far has led me to the "Do It Yourself" kit. Panther has a model for Johnson Evinrude motors, but that's all I have found so far. Lots of power tilt jacker type brackets out there, but that requires drilling and filling holes in the transom. No thanks.
Anyone else made a home made tilt trim on their kicker garelick? |
