It's finally mine! Thanks to all the fine folks on this site, including the seller of the New2Me, CD25, Seaweed, my first boat has arrived. Unfortunately, we are having our cold spell here in NC on the Pamlico River and the Northeast winds have emptied out our creek, No launch today. I have explored the nooks and crannys of this site and believe I have made a great choice. Your travels are my next dreams, your modifications my newest hobby, your advice is sound and when different than others debated in an agreeable tone and your fellowship and love of your boats is unmatched. I hope one day to be experienced enough to offer such sage commentary but for now I will enjoy yours and if you spy us exploring the Pamlico and Neuse Rivers please expect a warm welcome aboard.
Thanks
Paul and Ruth

SEAWEED,
Welcome aboard! Hope that you have already made friends with your local C-Dory boaters on MUNCHKIN. Please take the opportunity to cruise in the Hampton Roads area by yourself or with others, as my dock is available for your use when you decide to mess around this great cruising ground.

Paul and Ruth, Welcome and congrats on the new to you C-Dory. You are right, this is a pretty great place and sounds like you will fit right in. In the spirit of "Just be(ing) nice, I won't rub it in that I was on the boat for 3 days last week, and had a great time, enjoying our PNW (warm) winter. Hey I'm just helping out because anticipation increases the enjoyment of the minute. Embarassed Laughing

I think that a C-Dory 25 is one of the best boats to cruise the East Coast. You'll enjoy it.

Having spent a summer on a boat in Annapolis, I'd add a air conditioner. If you don't want to install a permanent one, a 5000 BTU model will fit in the forward window (is that a nautical term?), run off a Honda 1000 and when not in use fit in the space under the V-Berth. Some pics somewhere in this blog of how it's done. BTW, 5000 is a minimum for you. AC cost <$100.

Welcome Aboard. you will love this boat. I second Boris' recommendation for removable A/C. It allows you the ability to "custom equip" the boat for each trip and season. We have a built in marine A/C and have run our little electric heater off the Honda 2000 much more often that the A/C and I wish I could leave it home for the 3+ seasons of the year we don't need it. Thanks Everyone for the Welcome
, Seaweed has spent the last couple of years with a great owner who enjoyed his time on the hard modifying her as he did on the water. Great features he did, LED everywhere, USB everywhere, Updated electrical, did a nice job with a Wallyworld AC with his wife's sewing skills making a window skirt for the front one amongst other skillful touches. She is one lovely outfitted lady. Obviously one of the great features is the pilothouse, lending itself to shelter on days other tremble to venture out. So its not the cold weather keeping me out, but the lack of water, kinda of necessary. Wish there was an ICW " InterContinental Waterway" so we could easily visit the Great North West. Taking the CD to Alaska has to be a dream. Only did it on the floating hotels.
