Hi kids. I noticed a few months back that the national weather service forecasting office in Eureka, calif has decided to be the only noaa forcaster between Canada and Mexico to discontinue including wind waves in their marine weather forecasts. They used to predict wind waves & swell heights but now just "wave heights". I sent them an email some time ago inquiring about the change & was ignored. Yesterday I emailed the meteorologist/ programmer at the ocean prediction center in College Park, MD. He contacted Eureka & inquired & emailed me that they did indeed change their forecasting format. Anyone out there have any idea why they decided my area is the only area in the entire civilized world that doesn't need wind wave predictions. I relied on that forecast separating wind waves heights from swell heights.
