That's a good question. I have hammocks both port and starboard up there, and try to use space wisely. Wouldn't it be interesting, though, to see the innovative Brat concepts devised if this were a site dominated by 16 owners instead of 22 and 25 guys. I can see Tyboo now... |

The best I have come up with is a V shaped wood platform that rests on the interior edge of the strakes about 6"-8" off the floor. The platform is made from 3/4" X 1" wood lath screwed together. It is pushed all the way to the bow with the back of the platform about 1' or so from the bulkhead. This allows me to put fish boxes on top and store ropes, fenders, tools, spare prop, etc. underneath. I also have a house battery between the platform and the bulkhead. To keep it from rattling around, I used small bungees to hold it down. |

Hey 16pounder- that's a very cool idea! I wish I'd have thought of that when I still had my 16-footer. Sounds like a great use of space. _________________ -Rod

Thanks.
It works pretty good. I use two plastic Wally World tubs up front for the fish. The platform is almost level with the bottom of the bulkhead opening so it makes it easy to slide the boxes out. |
