I am trying to decide which Raymarine chartplotter to use in the TC255. The helm in the TC255 will be exactly the same as in the CD25. Many of you have the Raymarine C80 display, how is the fit on the dash or helm? The E80 is the same size except it is 10" deep, where the C80 is only 4.5" deep. Will there be room for the E80? Are the extra functions of the E80 worth the extra $1000.00? Thanks in advance.

Brent, I have a C80 on my CD25. I know Les has installed an E80 on a recent CD25 at EQ so I am sure it fits. I believe the main feature of the E series over the C series is the ability to network more than one station. Not sure why you would need a full station in the cockpit. If it is for the fish finder it would be much cheaper to just add another stand alone FF than adding another E80. I think the cost of the E80 is $1,000 more than a C80 and you still need to add another station. Seems like overkill on a CD25 or even a TC25.

Fred, The E80 also allows for video input from remote cameras, DVD etc., onscreen engine monitoring for Honda or e-tec engines, NEMA2000 compatibility, as well as NEMA0183.
I don't need a second station. Just looking at both plotters. Whichever one I choose will have to last for a long time.
