1989 22' Angler, $25,250 (Oak Harbor, WA)
We just bought a used Rosborough. And now we hate to do it, but we have to sell our cherished 'Budro'. With the gear that is included, this boat can (and often has) as easily be set up as a fishing machine as a comfortable cruiser. Located North end of Whidbey Island, Washington. White w/dark blue sheer stripe & trim, and black bottom paint.
2008 Honda 90HP 4 stroke (carbureted) originally installed, cared for, & freshly tuned @ EQ Marine on the island
2003 Honda 8 HP 4 stroke, also freshly tuned
    Garmin 4208 Chart Plotter/Sounder
    West Marine VHF
Jensen CD/AM/FM radio w stereo speakers
    Binnacle Compass
Full custom cockpit canvas (blue to match hull trim), cleaned and re-waterproofed last year.
Interior snap-on canvas window privacy covers (never used)
    Updated upholstery (blue)
    Separate sloped canvas cockpit cover
    Wallas Kerosene stove/cabin heater
EZ Loader trailer (adequate but not great)
    Porta-potty
Cannon electric downriggers (Mag-10, Mini-Mag) and respective mounts
Scotty mount and electric plug-in for Ace line hauler (not included)
    4 pole rod rack
Trollmaster remote throttle control for kicker
Tie bar for Main & Kicker (use with Trollmaster)
    Spare Propeller for main
    twin 18 gallon fuel tanks

Thank you. This has been our baby for many, many years and we are pretty conflicted about seeing her go away from us.

Great boat. Can this boat be towed and launched comfortably by a Toyota Tacoma with 5800lb tow capacity?

I bet someone on this forum has done exactly that and could chime in. For reference i tow with a jeep cherokee. mine however is an '05 with hemi, but it tows my '88 22ft cruiser like its not even there.

I don't have a Toyota Tacoma but the very similar Nissan Frontier with a 6100lb capacity. It tows our fully loaded CD-22 just fine. However, I haven't tried towing up mountain ranges, mostly the hills between Seattle and Mount Vernon. It handles it just fine and does a good job. But I don't get the sensation that "you don't even know it's back there" as many people communicate who own larger trucks. I think if I was a full-time trailer boater, I would get a full size 1/2 ton truck for towing. JMHO

the gas mileage is worse, but I feel like our Hemi Cherokee tows our 22 better than the 3/4 ton cummings did. in terms of comfort and ease.

Just as a data point: A couple of weeks ago I stopped at a scale and weighed my 22 Cruiser (same basic boat as Angler, but more cabin/less cockpit). I have an 80hp main and heavyish Honda 8 kicker. Averaging out things I did and did not have aboard, I think the weight I got was probably close to what I would be loaded up for "local use," and maybe not far off for cruising. I have a galvanized tandem trailer.

At any rate, I got 4180# on the axles and 330# on the tongue.

Our 2001 22 Cruiser with Yamaha 80 and 8hp kicker and all of our crap on a tandem axle trailer weighed 4660lbs on a certified scale.

Good grief Sunbeam, I only have a 300 lb. tongue rating on my receiver and when I bought my 89 22' with a single axle it only had a 220 lb. tongue weight. ( weighted with a tongue scale )

I was thinking a tandem would have lees tongue weight.

Well, the "conventional wisdom" I've read (for the US; I understand European trailers are set up with less tongue weight) is to have around 10% tongue weight, or maybe a bit less. But then it seems that with a tandem, from what I've read, somewhat less than you'd have with a single is okay. For me, If I add the axles and tongue weight together I get ~4500#, so 330# is around 7.5% which I'm happy with (I think?). At any rate, it tows beautifully, which I am definitely happy with. I am expecting the tongue weight to go up slightly when I get my anchor and rode in the bow locker.

I'm guessing that with a light boat (i.e. new-to-you and not loaded for cruising yet), and a single axle trailer, maybe your total trailer weight is around.... what.... 3800#? If so, then 200# is a bit over 5%. I would have though that was a little light for a single axle.... but how does it tow?

Sunbeam

PS: Sorry for taking over your for sale thread, but I will say that your boat looks great - one of those that makes me wish I'd found an Angler (since I don't fish much, I'd have cockpit canvas and a huge outdoor "living room" cockpit Thumbs Up Smile

Great looking boat, I would jump on it if I didn't already have one.

Thanks to everyone who has shown interest in our boat. She has found a very nice new home on Mercer Island. Fortunately we have around 2 million pictures, but we still miss her.
