Ok first off I'm still in the research phase and I keep finding C-dory models that I didn't know existed. I didn't know that c-dory makes a 26' Angler but here are the pictures.

http://www.threeriversmarineinc.com/pages/CAPE_2.htm

Also has anyone heard of a CapeCruiser? It's made in kent washington but looks like a knock off of a C-dory with a few changes???

Pictures at this link.

Holycamoly mon!! With that 115 Yami on it, must be a muscle-bound oversexed 22 foot Angler version. I like it! I see it has a sealed anchor locker so far (pix still downloading)

You all can ignore my question regarding cape cruisers. I found a thread on this site regarding it and obviously it's not looked upon with too much favor.

But look at that 26' angler....

Flapbreaker,

C-Dory made the 26 angler in the past. Check the photos on page 6 of my photo album. The scanned brochure is from 1989.

The boats in the links provided appear to be Cape Cruisers.

C-Dory boats have a prominent logo on the cabinside.

I think that 26 Pro Angler is the one that never sold down in CA. The factory took it back, whacked the fly bridge off, added a bracket and a Honda. That was to be the last of them because the mold was haywire or something. Here is a post of C-Bill's that will link you to a couple resources:

And here is the thread I took that quote from.

I guess the boat you originally was looking at is gone . . .

So now if we're looking at new, and you want a small cuddy fishing boat:

http://www.parkerboats.net/pages/boat_detail.jsp?boatid=13

Or if you want to live on it and travel with it for extended periods:

http://www.nomadhouseboats.com/home.html

Or if you want to do a little of everything:

No the boat I was looking at is not sold. I decided against it because of the motor arrangement. Couldn't spend that kind of dough and not be 100% happy. Not sure if your post was genuine or not. The nomad houseboat is a joke, you can't be serious.

Anyway about my original question. As it turns out it looks like the 26' angler is not made by c-dory. I was fooled. Sorry.

Actually that 26' Angler does look to be a boat made by C-Dory. But who knows what year it was constructed? Jeff?

For a pure fishing boat I bet it would be an awsome boat. Lots of room for fishing!

It is really too bad they don't make this model any more

I think it would be a big hit for them with the fishing crowd. Especially if they put the motor on a bracket! With a self draining cockpit and under deck fish boxes that would be one sweet boat!

Gary-

It would be a nice big, fishing boat! (Except for the raised floor.)

Might sell to the charter fishing people, where many, if not most, of these are in service now (up in Alaska), and depending on the competition it would be up against. How would it sell against the new TC-255?

The price tag would probably be abut $80,000 or more out the door, depending on electronics. This boat, with the flying bridge, was for sale at Gunther's for $75K before they took it back to the factory, removed the flying bridge, and offered it for sale again.

It still hasn't sold. Where's the demand? Is the cost too high for most fishermen? If it was a seriously salable unit, you'd think it would have sold along the line somewhere!

Not sure about the bracket. Is it needed performance wise? Would it make fishing easier or more difficult?

Just my $.02, worth what you paid for it, and about $.01 in todays economy! Joe.

The 26' Pro Angler in Florida is a C-Dory and is used for Grouper fishing in the Florida Middle Grounds of the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the few remaining C-Dorys that are available there. :cry Regarding the "other" boat, a trip to Kent would be enlightening. Mike

AMENTATHAT Exclamation Exclamation I hope the new 25 cat has the level floor like the 22 still does. If C-Dory EVER does away with that wonderful below water-level design on the 22.... I will disown them Shocked

Some day... some day, I'm gonna find me a ripsnotin deal on an old 27, rip that self bailer floor out, and have the baby of my dreams Smile (my .2 $ worth) Xmas Tongue

Gee Greg, I have the 27' in the driveway right now! Wink

I hadn't thought of ripping the floor out and doing away with the self bailing feature. Sure is something to think about though! What I am thinking about though is having a few holes cut in for storage boxes on each side of the engine. 2 at the very back for the batteries, and two more in front of those to put some smaller fish boxes in. Then take the big "fish hold" and divide it up so I can put a 40 gallon freshwater tank in.

If you look at Seasport you will see that they sell a lot of a very similar boat. If C-Dory came out with a deeper V with the lower floor (IE: no step to the cabin like the 22) in a 24, 26 or 27' and used the pilot house design they are known for I think it would sell well in the NW. In Florida, and California it would be a tough sell simply due to it being too warm down there. For those areas they need a center console!

Yeah I get real preachy Rolling Eyes about some things don't I Laughing as much as I fish alone and as much as I run back and forth to downriggers from the helm where I'm always doin sumpin while trolltravlin Love a "step" would be somthin I just could NOT live with. C-Dorys are such a fun project boat, and bein made out of fiberglass, one needs not to be a welder to do them mods Idea
I envy your 27 Exclamation I like them 27 Sea Sports to Thumbs Up I have more faith in them old C-Dorys for being meticulously crafted; IE: quality control.
I'd better get. I think I talk too much sometimes. Gonna have all the 27 peep made at me in no time Embarrased

There is a picture of a 26' ProAngler CD in my photo album on P2. It is a walk around cabin with an outboard hanging in a motor well. It is excellent to fish from and is a great performer in rough seas.
The only improvement I would make on that boat is to have the motor on a bracket and eliminate the motorwell. It definitley does not need a flying bridge.

Does anyone know if that ProAngler that was in Calif. is still available and where is it., who owns it etc.??
