Looks like a potentially good project boat for someone with some time on their hands. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Yes. It does need TLC, but it is a rare boat with good bones low hours and a desirable engine. Definite diamond in the rough, but I did add “or best offer” for a reason. |

Chris - please don't take my comment as a negative. I meant it as written - e.g. I think it would be a good boat for someone with the time to work on it. The 27's are indeed a rare find and if I had the time, some spare change and a super, super understanding wife (who'd let me have another boat), I'd be all over this. |

I know it was not negative. I just wanted to add to my first post so people knew I'm open to all offers. |

Wow!
A Longhouse 27 for a CD-16 price!
With a turbocharged Volvo Diesel engine and a Volvo Duo-Prop outdrive!
And hydraulic gurdies, no less! Could those things be modified to pull crab and shrimp pots?
Looks like it was last fished in '91! Commercial style, no less.
Lot'sa work needed there. General clean up. Re-do wood work. Refinishing. Painting. Plumbing. Convert flush toilet to Airhead. New upholstery and curtains as needed. Electrical service. Engine Reconditioning. New outdrive gaskets, pumps, service, and paint.. Fuel system clean out; new hoses and filters. Totally new electronics as needed. Windlass needed: (remove wooden bow sprint, rode/reel.) New tires, brakes, seals, master (surge) cylinder, and flush system. Re -wire trailer lights. Re-carpet bunks. New anti-fouling paint. Etc., etc.
Wish I were 60, not 70! But I'll have to spend my time enjoying my boats, rather than rebuilding one like this!

Just a few more thoughts!
If a diesel hasn't been started/run in 20 years, what do you have to do to the fuel system on the motor and in the tank to restore them to operating condition? Disassembly? Cleaning or Replacement?
I assume the fuel tank is under the main cockpit floor (?) Does the floor have to come up to get the tank in operable condition?
I'd take the gurdies off and sell them. What's their market value?
What would it cost to put an entirely new rail system around the cockpit? (It looks awfully shallow compared to some boats.) What else is under that floor?
One could remove the engine and drive unit and replace it with an Armstrong Bracket and a ~250 hp 4-stroke outboard, but the work and the units would probably total $15k-$20k, no? (Could sell the removed units for _______?)
Fun project! But don't jump into something like this w/o some very good ideas about final costs!

another 27 very cool. it looks like your storage /fish boxes are forward. Mine is in the stern with my fuel tanks forward. Where are you fuel tank? between the fish boxes and the motor?
Will you sell me the steering wheel? I asked about it when you first post pics of the boat last year? I will even send you my current wheel in trade. It just looks cool. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Wow! Lots of comments keep them coming! It does need work. I’m not to sure about the Fuel Tanks. We had it running a few months ago but we bypassed the tanks and drew from a gas can. As far as the trailer goes. We purchased it 2 years ago to move it to my uncle’s house from storage. It is a completely rebuilt trailer in very good condition tires and all. I will put any serious buyers in contact with my uncle and he can give you all the specifics. |

I was asked to add pictures of the "leg". I now understand that is the stern. I guess I should have known that, anyway I added 2 more pictures. |
