Subject: Illinois River Adventure Peoria, IL to Chicago, IL 9/7/12 to 9/15/12 Round Trip

"Falcon" C-Dory 22 Cruiser powered by 75 Honda and 9.9 Honda Kicker is now posed for our next Grand Adventure. This time the first mate will be my son Rob and two grandsons deck hands, Aaron and Drew
, both still in school.

Departing early Friday morning from Stamps, AR. hoping to launch the boat at Peoria, IL by late afternoon.
Rob has a demanding job as a master chemist and must be on the job in a week. The old captain has all the time in the world.

Sounds like fun. Enjoy, and remember Roger's (Dreamer) tag line......

Our Illinois River Adventure covered 341 miles. Cruising into the big city of Chicago, IL. was a most intriguing site with tall building boarding the river channel and city streets crossing on old bridge structures low to the water gives one a unique view not found anywhere else. Sometimes looking forward there were five bridges off the bow, tall buildings blocked the sun's reflected light from mirrored surface, and this scene could be called artistic. Locking through the Chicago Lock into Lake Michigan expecting raging waves but found normal conditions due to the sea wall that protects this area.

Yes, this was an adventure uncommon for an old cotton chopper from Arkansas.

Where will the next adventure be? There are many places to see in this different way.
