CD25, Honda 150. Hours 0 through 14.9...mostly loaded to the gills, 4 people onboard (two adults, two teenage boys), camping gear, full fuel, water, cooler, generator, dinghy & outboard, tidal currents with us, tidal currents against us, wind and chop variable, no really glassy seas. After first couple of hours of break in, RPMs mostly between 3500 and 5000. Speeds between 10 and 22 mph.
Miles traveled: 169.35
Fuel consumed: 63.8 gallons
MPG: 2.65
GPH: 4.28
This mirror other people's experience?

I typically average about 2 mpg in the ocean with a full load and my low tech 2-stroke.
Last halibut weekend was 89 gallons and 177 miles.

Cruising from Oregon City to Depoe Bay it is about 200 miles. We used 85 gallons over the 13 hour cruise, averaging about 15 knots. We used 6.5 gph average over the length of the trip. It is about 100 miles on the Willamette and Columbia rivers and 100 miles in the ocean. We were fully loaded and powered by twin 90 Honda's. We had some nice glassy water on part of the Columbia and ran above 20 knots for about three hours. For parts of the ocean cruise we could only make 10 to 12 knots without experiencing a lot of bottom slap. |

Most recent Halibut trip (Newport,OR) yielded 30.4 Gallons burned in 98 miles in the open ocean. Conditions varied, Friday 6/3 in sloppy waters (6 ft. Swells and 2 ft wind chop): Saturday 6/4 waters mostly smooth (1-3 swells).
We had two on board and loaded with full fuel and water. _________________ Jerry and Helen

Those numbers look awfully familiar to me. Of course, I've got a 22' and a Johnson 70. _________________ Pete
