Hey all,

Is anyone using a Garmin Fuel Flow Sensor? I have a 5 series chart plotter and was thinking about getting a Flowscan but see the Garmin GSM10 Fuel Flow Sensor may work with my unit.......

Thoughts or comments??

Thanks in advance,
Peter

I wanted to put a Floscan on my little boat. It has a Yamaha 60 that was not compatible with the Floscan. Make sure it will work with youe motor and indicate what you want.

We have had the Garmin fuel sensor for a couple of years. It gives you readings of gallons per hour, miles per gallon and total fuel left, your range based on the amount of fuel you have left and miles traveled. The gallons per hour lets you pick out an efficent rpm/ speed for economy. Nice to have a handle on fuel used/ho you have left as fuel gauges in boats can be pretty inaccurate. I have it going to our 4208. You do have a remember to add fuel to the system everytime you fill up. I think it's pretty reasonable, all things considered.

Hi Peter,

Will-C described the Garmin fuel sensor very well. I have it hooked up to a Garmin 5212 and it has worked flawlessly. I would buy it again.

Thanks for the replies guys. Are you guys running EFI's or carburatored engines? I know that the Flowscan has issues with some EFIs.

I am running an older model Yamaha 130 with carbs.

Anyone aware of any issues with the Garmin fuel sensor?

Thanks again,

Peter
