On my 2001 the Wallas has suddenly stopped working- nothing- no sputtering, smoking-nothing-trying to eliminate any electrical problem first- found one small 4 watt fuse under the stove- are there any other? If so where?
Thanks in advance for any info/advise.

Fuse direct to a battery. Check for it. _________________ CHARLIE and PENNY CBRAT #100

As I recollect the Wallas is connected directly to the battery in most boats, with a 10 amp fuse. _________________ Bob Austin

Just brought mine back to Scan marine second time this year.
I think 300 dollars ought to fix it If I am lucky, was 370.00 last time.
Good luck |

askim,
What model of Wallis stove do you have and how old is it? How old was it when you had it worked on the first time? How much do you use it (guess)?
Nothing cryptic, just collecting info.

Do know about the 10 watt fuse in line to the battery.- thus there are only two fuses for the Wallas-the four watt on the bottom of the stove and the ten that is in line to the battery?

You might have been able to repair board yourself i just did so on my wallas. Total cost was under 20 bucks. It was a burned tip32a transistor. Spend a little more time troubleshooting next time you'll save alot. If sent my stove away evert time i had a problem it would have cost me over $1200 this summer alone! _________________ My dream boat has arrived! |

If the fuse says "4" on it, it's not a wattage rating, it's an amperage rating. Watts are power, 4 amps at 12 volts is 48 watts. 4 amps at 120 volts is 480 watts.
P(watts) = I (current, amps) X V (voltage)
If the stove draws more than 48 watts of power on that 4 amp fuse on a 12 volt circuit it will "blow" (theoretically, if it's rated correctly and in good condition).

Scanmarine called back it was the smaller of the two circuit boards price
down to 362.00. They are coming out with a new model next It has a time counter to track the running time, a fan that will run 30,000 hours instead of 500. Thermostat and more for around 2500.00. |

Sorry guys meant amps not watts- but thanks for pointing it out-must have been a senior moment-but back to my dilemma - everyone is in agreement that there are just two fuses on a Wallas?

I doubt if you'll find agreement from all of us... Where there's 2, 3, or 4 of us, there's usually a 5th.
But not at 0800!
Yes, I don't think I've seen any model with more than 2 fuses. Good luck, let us know what you find. Maybe we can talk Pat Anderson into another one, but I doubt it...
