I have the sport 120 tabs and the instructions say I may need a different sensor coil. I also have to cut the shafts.
Do I need some additional parts?
Thanks so much. I can not believe the great responses here.
Jeff
Did not get back to the store. They will be open tomorrow. _________________ Sea ya |

Jeff,
If you have the M120 system and you did not shorten the actuators (you used what came in the kit) then all you need to do is cut the rods at the score mark on them.
If you shortened the actuators there will be less than 1" of piston shaft exposed when it is retracted.
Take a look at the picture and let me know what you think.

Tom, I found some time to look into exactly what is going on and to respond in hopes you can help me get my display up and running.
First, you posted three kinds of display. I have the newer version of the sperate display (your 2nd photo)
The tabs run all the way down and all the way up without issue.
On power up, the Port side posts a flashing yellow light at the top and the starboard side posts solid yellow lights at the top and bottom.
On holding both switches at Bow Down, both deploy fully but only the Starboard indicator reflects a full row of red lights. Port side continues to reflect only a flashing yellow at the top. _________________ Capn Steve & 1st Mate Kath

Steve,
Can you tell me how old the indicator is?
Here is the troubleshooting for the system:
Diagnostic Information
Port and starboard display alternately flash: TPI requires calibration. Refer to calibration information above.
Upper yellow LED flashes on port or starboard display: Indicates the display is not receiving a sensor signal. If the port upper yellow LED flashes the fault is in the port sensor or wires. A flashing yellow LED on the starboard display would indicate a fault on the starboard sensor or wiring. Check for a broken wire to sensor, faulty connection or corrosion at TPI display. Switching the connections on the back of the helm display will confirm the diagnostic code if the flashing LEDs switch sides.
Alternatively you may check the twisted pair of wires inside the shielded red and green cables with an Ohm meter set to the 10X scale. They should produce a reading in the 220 -260 Ohm range.
I would start with double checking the connections for the red wire on the back of the display. Then try checking the resistance (ohms) on the red wire.
Let me know what you find and I will be delighted to help.
Tom

Steve,
Very good, the indicators have a 3 year warranty, so your covered (although we are not sticklers about our warranty coverage dates ).
Let me know what you find,
Tom
