I was running my 1985 8 HP Johnson 2 stroke kicker today in preparation
to selling it next week to see if it ran good.I never noticed or gave it any thought but i think my kicker is has a X-long shaft. It measures 21 inches from the top of the clamp ( where it attaches to the transom ) to the 1st cavitation plate and 24.5 inches to the 2nd cavitation plate.I am fairly certain that it has a X-long shaft but i want to be certain. Someone can probably tell me for certain if it has a long or X-long shaft. Tug

Measure from the clamp to the cavitation plate above the prop for shaft length- about 25" is an extra long. Your motor looks like an extra long (or what they used to call a sail drive). _________________ Matt Gurnsey

Matt: Thanks, i better e-mail that guy right away, he's coming to town to buy my kicker. I am not sure that he realizes that the kicker has a X-long shaft. Tug |
