My first salmon. I went w/ a buddy from work that has all the equipment. He showed me the basics and we fished area 9 outside the shipwreck & over near the green can S. Whidbey point. Not large but the two silvers tasted good. The small pink will go in the smoker.

So I'm guessing I shouldn't have taken all the fishing gear off the boat yesterday? Wink

Way to go Tom and Roger. That's a nice looking feesh!

You should never take ALL the fishing gear off the boat. What were you thinking? Laughing

Embarassed ROTFLOL!!

Well, I went to put the camperback on the boat yesterday and it seemed so quiet and fall-like, you know like the season was over. So, I took the gear off the boat. OBVIOUSLY, the wrong move!

Yeah man, what WERE you thinking! Laughing I fish all year long, that what the Wallas is for, Blackmouth in the winter!

I was out in the big rollers on Saturday and we got 4 down in Brown's Bay, 95-110' on the rigger with hoochies and flashers. I got a gold and green flasher, Betsy, I think. Will have to try it.

That water looks nice compared to what it was Saturday.

We're in the Everett Coho Derby, anyone else?

Better enjoy fishing now...if PeTA had their way, it'd be illegal. What a bunch of nut-jobs.

I'm eating some salmon tonight in their honor.

I'm a "vegetarian once removed". Most of the meat I eat, ate vegetables before I ate it and I figure that's close enough.

Roger,
I have moorage for the derby in the Everett Marina. They release shared moorage a week before. Sure is nice to have, avoiding all the lines and crowds at the launch on derby weekend. Putting the boat in Thursday afternoon.

I won't be overnighting, easier to stay at home and drive down in the AM.

Weather looks good, hope the fish continue to push in and bite. My dad needs to get the winner this year, heck, I'd settle for 2nd after him!

Tom,
No, am not prefishing, gotta work. Those 5th graders keep a guy busy these days! I keep telling my friends in the derby, "There's a new rule for ticket holders in the derby. No fishing on Thursday or Friday. Gotta keep the fish in the water so we can catch this weekend!"
I'll give you a call Thursday night for a report, thanks!

Patrick
