OK, I now understand what is so great about a sixteen.
Earlier this summer/late spring, I sold our 1983, 22' C-Dory Classic, “R-Dory”, primarily because I had one too many boats and was not using either C-Dory enough to justify their space in my garage.
I kept the like new 1990, sixteen Angler “Lil Sis” that we purchased in Idaho Falls and had used very little.
At that point, the jury was out for a while, if I had made the right decision of which boat to sell.
After R-Dory left, Connie insisted that I have a canvas top made and new cabin curtains.
We found a absolute master at canvas/tubular frame fabrication, who designed a top that allowed for my height but would still go into our garage (see album) http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Lil-Sis&id=Sis&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php
Yesterday, was an absolutely gorgeous time to be out on the upper Mississippi River, as we cruised down river for a great hamburger at the Hawkeye Marina on Mud Lake, it finally sunk in that the right decision (for us) had been made.
I finally realise that there were two things that really finished off our sixteen Angler, which were the bow rail and the top.
Obviously I/we are very comfortable with the decision of keeping the sixteen, which is big enough for us (for a while).
Of course, if I could find a nineteen or a twenty two in need of restoration, we would have to take a good look.
Anyone else downsized to a sixteen and happy with their decision, or the reverse?
Best regards,

We downsized from the 22 to a 16 cruiser about 6 years ago. The 16 was a perfect fit for us. The bow rail was useful when poling the boat onto the trailer at the ramp. We had one electric wiper and one manual wiper. On the cruiser, where the seats are set back, I would recommend two electric wipers. If the 22 is the seagoing VW camper, the 16 is the beetle, although Dotty says it's more like the Miata. Either way, we loved it dearly and just might look for a 16 angler (if we can't find a 14). _________________ MartyP
