Since we will rarely overnight on the boat anymore, we've been updating to better suit our use. We fish 99% of the time. The regular table took up a tremendous amout of space and we never really use it. A smaller table that Donna can set a cup of coffee on while she watches the rod tips would be much more practical for us. I whipped one up from red oak...cost less than 30 bucks for the wood and brace. I used the brackets from the existing table so it is easy in, easy out. Now, Donna can jump up easily when we get a fish on.
Why didn't we think of this sooner?
Another little mod was moving the forward seat pad aft 4 inches which gives better support for her legs. It also allowed for angling the backrest a bit which is more comfy.
Pics in our album.

Uh, excuse me 4, but didn't you have some fancy pearl and silver inlaid table top that Martha Stewart would love in there? What happened to it?
That's pretty slick. Good thinking. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Thanks, and yes, Mike, we still have the photo tile table...and it will probably go on the wall of the boat barn when it get built. Here's a flashback:

Be careful with the insider trading.
Nice mod. Great thing about these boats: they can be modified to fit so many uses.
Best wishes,

First test run with new table and all that room was a huge success.....had to jump up a few times to reel in a fish and it was great. The new leg room made this so much better. Just manouvering around in the boat was another plus. Fish blood in the boat was the best! A truly great COMFORTABLE day.

Wow, that's a great idea.......
I can train the dog to drive the boat and that frees Rick up!
Good mod indeed!

Donna, all you need is a remote autopilot, not a pup. You hold the remote (I know that's a bad thing for a guy to say] , sit in back, steer and let Rick use both hands! . Just don't close your eyes in pleasure and forget to look for obstructions...
By Jove, I think we've hit on something!

Both of those tables are great. I like the inlaid picture idea.
But the thought of my dog driving the boat is downright scary.
At least he has four paws. That could be an asset sometimes. _________________ Bill

Rick,
Looks nice. Works for you. Works for Donna, Helps to catch fish and personalizes the boat to you two. How much better could it be?

Casino winnings? What are those!! I can see the avoidance of Casino losings (my motto is "Buy high, sell low", what do I know ) being the seed for a nice electronics upgrade.
There, I've said it... Happy foot rub!!
