We're planning on hitting the Gulf Islands 8/15-8/24. If anyone is interested in Buddy Boating for any or all of that time, give us a PM or e-mail. Always fun to boat with Brats! Laughing

We are now at Anacortes (art festival and wonderful theater). Perhaps as you go north we can cross wakes. Don't have any schedule so who knows where we will be, but somewhere in the San Juans we think. Have a great trip.

Ruthi & I plan on being in the Gulf Islands starting around the 21st. We will be in the area for 3 to 4 weeks. We don't have an itinerary but we will keep a eye out for you guys.

Thanks for all the responses. We'll be crossing the Straits in the AM and spending a couple of nights in the San Juans before crossing into Canada. We will monitor 16 & 68 and give a shout out for you folks along the way.

Apparently, Summer may stage a brief comeback. Joe & Ruth, don't you feel the need to burn some diesel? Wink

Just got back from a week in the south Islands. we stayed at a few new places to us. One that we checked out but did not stay at was the chatham islands. Nice anchorages in three spots with sand beaches. Lots of shallow protected water to kayak or row around in. Lots of wild life.

We did not stay because the wind was forecasted for 25 knots the next day and we had to cross over to Sj's. If we had a few days to stay we would have and waited out the wind. I was even thinking it would make a great place for a gathering. we have never had a anchor out only gathering before, could be fun.

another over looked spot was D'cary island, or as susan calls it "death Island" dont ask. but its a nice spot.

Tied up tonight at Thetis Island Marina. We dodged last nights wind in Princess Cove on Wallace Island. So far we have seen 6 C-Dory’s, Anita Marie, C-Cakes and honorary C-Dory R-Matey at an impromptu CBGT on Sucia Island.

We had a CD-22 anchor close by there but never made contact. When leaving Sucia, another CD-22 pulled in to Fossil Bay.

Saturday we met Leon and Joan aboard SEAHAWK. They were on their 2nd cruise aboard their immaculate CD-22. They rafted to us while attending the Ganges farmers market. Around 2:00, they pushed off for Montague and we ended up close by. Happy hour on the dock included Lynn and Louise from the TC-24 they call Sea Hag.

Wednesday looks like the best day on the Straits so we'll head across early. Our first 7 days were glorious, today, a little rainy but better weather is forecast.
