I am having trouble with my Honda digital gauges on the 2007 TomCat.....I have lost the MPG and total miles traveled. The GPH and gallons used are still functioning. Any ideas?

Is your water tube plugged up where you're not registering MPH (speed)? |

Those functions you mentioned need speed alright. Do you get it from the motor pitot tube or GPS?
If the water tube is plugged, Forrest is right, but if you're getting it from GPS, check the data buss.

It has to be from the motors. If I have gallons used and GPH, I dont understand how I could not have MPG and miles traveled. Obviously I have miles traveled on the GPS and can do the math for the MPG, but it should be working as before. Something has stopped this from working.

The Honda digital gauges get speed from the lower unit of the motor through a water tube that runs forward to the back of the gauge.
The lower unit pickup is a small hole on the leading edge of the lower unit and is likely plugged.
The speed and miles on the Honda digital gauges have nothing to do with the GPS (this is not true on the Yamaha and Suzuki engine which use the same Faria gauges).

Les,
Does water flow up the tube or is it just air pressure?
Fred,
I think you might find the tube off the back of the guage. I have the same tube arrangement on my Yamaha gauge (Older 2005). I bet it came off when you replaced the helm pump. _________________ Tom
