This motor looks nice, but I'll bet it's heavy. I would love the power tilt!
Anyone mounted and extra longshaft kicker on their 22?
Thanks
Roger

25" is just a long shaft kicker. That's what most people use anyway.

Short Shaft = 15"
Long Shaft = 20"
Extra Long Shaft = 25"
Extra Extra Long Shaft = 30" (sometimes called ultra long)

I should buy it and save it for a main motor when gas price goes up!

the 15hp would be to heavy for your 22cd
9.9 would be better

Usually, the 15 and 9.9 hp motors in the same line (make) have the same powerhead, shaft, etc. Only the carbureration and spark timing and perhaps a few other minor details differ, hense, the weights are the same.

I have that motor on my tin skiff. The team at Sportcraft told me that it was a detuned 20hp. In addition to the minor stuff, there is a different cam per Sportcraft.

As an aside, I finally got caught by bad gas (ethanol) with this motor. Even though I used Stabil, I got a gummy carburetor. Just got it back yesterday. I've never drained the carb before, but at an hour and a half of shop time to clean it out, that will now become part of the winterization routine. No more ethanol gas either. In the Tillamook area there are several stations where you can get non-ethanol regular.
