Mary C

I have been interested in the Susquehanna also. I will not say I am familiar with the river, however, I also live in upstate NY and whenever I drive south through PA alongside the Susquehanna I wonder about boating on it. Most of the river I have seen looks wide and shallow, lots of rocks visible in places and I have wondered about the absence of boats on the river. I cannot remember seeing any waterfront developments in the river towns I have been through. But again this impression is what I gathered from the road and I might be completely off base. Last year my wife and I drove north on PA state route 11 which goes along the river in the area south of Wilkes-Barre. I would suggest getting a map and checking the name of towns and cities along the river such as Moncanaqua, Lime Ridge, Bloomsburg, etc. and then checking the internet to see if any have a web site which might mention recreation, boating, fishing, marinas, or boating related activities. I would be interested to see what your research comes up with, good luck!

In checking the Brat Map I see there is a 19' Angler owner from Wilkes-Barre listed, Rabbit's Hutch. A PM to that C-Brat might get you some information on the Susquehanna! CoolSmile

For the most part the Susquehanna is pretty shallow, lots of jet boats etc. Good small mouth bass fishing. The southern end where it meets the Chesapeake (Susquehanna flats) has phenomenal stripped bass fishing. There might be some areas that are deeper pools but it's not like the Hudson River.

If I recall correctly, that boat was sold when the owner was deployed to Iraq.
