Well..it's February...must be time to think about Lake Powell in September! Let's set the rendezvous for Saturday, September 24th in Oak Canyon. I will launch on Friday the 23rd at Wahweap and head up lake from there.
Water levels look like they will be up again this year...and if it gets real high we may need to pick a different rendezvous spot. The beaches in Oak Canyon will disappear at high water levels. We'll see what it looks like as we get closer to September.

Hi Chris, what publications would you recomend for Lake Powell? Is there a good way to get charts ordered on line or downloaded? Thanks George

Must have is the Stan Jones Map of Lake Powell...available online from a number of sources. Also...a good book to have...Boater's Guide to Lake Powell, by Michael Kelsey.
The Stan Jones map will get you where you need to go...but electronic charts are nice. These are usually in some form of fishing charts...the various purveyors call them different names. They all list the lakes covered...get one that includes Powell.

We want to do this, this year. Kate is on board. Thinking about having the kitty on board. I know what Patti would do.

Oh goodness no it's not too early. I'm not home right now and I don't want to make the signup with my phone but I'll try to remember. If it doesn't show up soon enough just drop me a PM to help me remember.

Let's see. Lake Powell - kids to school - Lake - school. Oh, just a few more years.

Both Stan Jones, and the Kelsey book are de facto standards as Chris says. We use the Navionics "Hot Lakes" charts for the GPS systems.

On this cold and frosty morning, you guys are killing me with the thought of an "armada" from PNW headed to Powell.

If you don't mind the thought of a steroidally challenged CD type joining in the fun, can someone tell me about the route for trailering, stops etc etc. so we can start thinking about it.

Merv & kathy

Merv,

I think Pat Anderson has documented his favorite route to LP, complete with Wally World stops and trailer repair facilities Sad Maybe he'll chime in here with some info.

This could be a great wrap-up of Summer.

This is an Equal Opportunity Gathering. Any boat...all boats...and no boats are all welcome. We typically have all sizes of C-dorys, Rangers, Tomcats, Ventures, aluminum boats, houseboats, rental boats, inflatable boats, kayaks, and no boats.
Everyone is welcome.

Thanks Chris, we are still C-Brats at heart but we don't like to gate crash unless the organiser approves.

I just thought it would be nice if some of the PNW contingent decided to "buddy-up" for the road trip. Maybe we could even start a new trend in Wally-Mart rendezvous Shocked

Back to scraping barnacles...

Merv
