Well I'm certainly no expert but I'd use what the factory had. The foam core laminated between glass & covered in gel-coat. We've all seen what wood & water eventually do.

How does that "box" attach to the deck & wall? (the one covering the fuel hoses etc) I'd imagine that need to be somehow sealed at the seams/joints since it appears that is an entry source for water, especially towards the center/door side [of the boat], where the edge is gone. I imagine that edge once kept deck water from running down/into the bilge. Kinda hard to tell in the pics.

Plus, having it hang over the top makes folding that awesome triangle-shaped edge so much easier for Meredith. Mr. Green (she keeps me in the life style I have become accustomed to.... Wink )

the short wall around the fuel lines is glassed into the deck. its missing on one side so I could get the wall out. I will replace it. It was never a way for the water to get it. expect the few times the water on deck was deeper the the wall is tall. I plan to increase the height of that wall to 6" at least.

the more I think about it the more I like the idea of over lapping the tank cover and then sealing it. I will also install a pump behind the cover incase water finds its way back in there.

I have not addressed the tp issue that has sprung up in my much more interesting vented head/ wall replacement post, so I will do so now. If its on the roll your lucky. if its not look on the floor or toilet lid and be thank full you don't have to do the pants down shuffle to the garage to get a roll. Wink
