A loaded 22 can go 4400# or so. Your owners manual or a websearch can tell you what your vehicle is rated for. _________________ CHARLIE and PENNY CBRAT #100

When I had the CD22 I towed it all over with a 2000 Grand Cherokee, V8 with the 6500# tow package. Didn't even know it was there.
When I got the CD25, I towed it the first few times with the Jeep, including a 300 mile trip up to see Les at EQ Marine. I knew it was there, but it towed it just fine. (Fortunately I didn't have to make any sudden stops!)
I think C-Hawk Roger down in CA towed for a long time with a Grand Cherokee, too. You shouldn't have any troubles. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Hi Mike
We Have a 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that has the factory tow package and we have used it to tow our 22 fT. CD. for the last 4 years any time we are not going over 50 miles from home and the boat is loaded light. I wouldn't feel comfortable towing the boat fully loaded for a two week trip a long distance with the jeep. It not that the jeep couldn't do the job but it would be working it very hard. When ever we are going on a long trip our tow vehicle is our 3/4 ton Ford four wheel drive pickup. _________________ Jeff, 1987 C-Dory 22FT. Angler The Kristen Rose |

We have an '02 Jeep GC limited 4.7 and a '09 Jeep GC Overland 5.7- they both tow the 22 without trouble. _________________ Roger

Charlie - Any idea how much a loaded 22 can go? (Want me to delete this smart aleck remark and two of your posts. How's the new Droid working for you?) |
Yes please, delete two of them. Other than this event , the Droid X is great! It sure does eat battery time with all the features turned on though.

I tow mine fairly frequently with a full sized bronco with 351 v8 and it does fine. But as they say, bigger is better as it does not tow as nice as my 25 foot Class C E-450 V10 motorhome. But it does do it, and it does it pretty well. I would assume that the jeep would too. |

My 1995 Grand Cherokee, LTD tows mine easily.
I could feel my transmission straining on my 1991 Cherokee. _________________ Bob Bilyou, Cheers© |
