I just put a TrollMaster on my Honda kicker. The results, I wish the throttle on my Yamaha 150 was as easy to control. Easy to install, works well, and sure beats sitting on the back deck in the rain guessing where I am going. _________________ Tom

Tom;
I am also interested in putting a Troll Master on my 2005 Honda 8 hp kicker. Nice to hear you are happy with yours. Is it the remote model? Where did you source yours from?

Wapiti,
I got it directly from TrollMaster. It sits at the helm but has a wiring harness that goes all the way to the kicker. |

Hey Tom;
Thanks for the info will see if I can also order from Troll Master directly. By the way the name of your boat "Bidarka" does it mean "trouble" in Russian?

Wapiti,
My read says a bidarka is a skin boat like a kayak. It's a combination Russian/Eskimo term. |

Tom;
In the Slavic languages Bidarka can be translated to mean "little trouble". As far as my wife is concerned she suggested calling our boat Nemesis, which may be "big trouble" (Bida).

I'll keep that in mind. It always helps to have an alternative meaning.
I almost called my first C-Dory "Fruzen Vat" which is very bad Norwegian for cold and wet. I had a friend who always asked why everything I did involved being cold and wet. The C-Dory was the first boat I have ever owned where I didn't have to be cold and wet.
