Robbin, cool video! That's fun to watch, and so professional I can smell the salt air. Prepare your acceptance speech(s), as I imagine awards of some sort will follow.

That was fun, wasn't it? Langley has a lot to offer. Cozy, safe but small marina, attentive, very capable harbormasters, and a town quite able to abduct various bills from pockets and purses. And how about that ice cream? I'll long remember desert Saturday night on the Creamery's porch. Happy Brats enjoying oversized mounds of cold calories while two friendly canines worked us like polished lobbyists.

It's sure good to have cousins with a 25' Ranger in the fold. I understand there's now a sign-up sheet to hang out on the new R-Matey. Hurry, as the vessel is limited to just 20 rotating merrymakers.

Saturday was nice and sunny, Sunday too windy! Barry, I know that kind of cruise, and I don't like 'em. Those are the ones we remember most, though. Glad you all made it home safely, and had a good time. I left at 9:45 a.m. and the following sea was a welcome sight. The wind seemed to build from late morning to about noon and blew all day.

Thanks, Brock, for coordinating this fun gathering. It was great weather on Saturday and wonderful to see everyone. Had lunch at the Edge Cliff on the lawn with a spectacular view. Saw the two 16s heading and soon after escorting the new R Matey into harbor. Later, great to visit with Joe and Ruth and they brought cake! Yum! Wow, what cool vessel, love to have one of those in future for cruising up and down the inside passage.

We also got to see and inspect the spacious new 27 C Dory that Susan and Tom acquired. That storage space is something to wish for alright.

Our friends, John and Sandy, had lots of fun and enjoyed meeting everyone. Their first trip on a C Dory and then to meet the Brats, well, they were very impressed.

Hope to see you all again up at Bellingham, but without our boat. We head to Nootka Sound the following Monday with boat in tow to make the yearly fishing trip to Critter Cove.

Sorry we missed this one. Ruth & Joe that boat is a thing of beauty! I'm sure you will enjoy her thoroughly for yrs to come.

M and I changed our plans at the last minute. Instead of launching @ Everett as planned, we trailered up to Cornet Bay and ran out to Stuart for the night. Had a fantastic dinner of salmon & scallops while on the hook @ Prevost w/ 13 other boats. Next morning we did a little hiking/site seeing & spent time talking w/ a nice couple from Anacortes who had a Sea Sport and three retrievers.

We left just after lunch so we'd hit the incoming tide @ Deception. What a ride. Once we made the turn out of Thatcher and really entered Rosario the bouncing began, especially from Allen Island south. It was good for M to experience it, and she handled it with her usual grace...and sarcasm. Laughing She said she "doesn't mind the front to back" (pitch) but dislikes the "side to side" (roll) of the boat. Laughing Laughing Combine them like yesterday and...

Next year, if plans permit.

I passed the Victoria Clipper III around 4 PM on Sunday going into Swinomish Channel. She was only making about 10 knots, looked to be running on one engine, and I didn't see any passengers on board. Not sure why it would be going through Swinomish Channel...

By the way, we had a pretty smooth ride from Sylvan Cove to Twin Bridges Sunday afternoon. The flood was giving us about 4 knots of extra speed through Guemes Channel. We had some pretty big tides over the weekend, and I'm sure that didn't mix well with the wind in places on Sunday. Glad everyone made it home safely and had a good weekend.

Robbin,

Great job on the video, you could make some money doing one for each of the C Brats! Of course, I have to give credit to Fred for his fine job of driving for the on the water action shots. Boy, that R Matey can go.

Like last year, we really enjoyed our stay at Langley and spending time w/ the Brats that attended.

Saturday the weather was perfect.

Sunday, on the way home crossing the Admiralty Inlet and heading up to Port Townsend was extremely rough and far from pleasant. However; Tanya held up well and did not even mention not having worn patches (for sea sickness).... probably cause she was too busy holding on tight to the grab bar! She also swore off boating for at least a week,

It was nice getting back to dry land in P.T.!!

Thanks again to Brock for arranging things, to Joe and Ruth and Tom and Susan for letting us all crawl all over their new boats, and for everybody else who attended. It was great seeing all of you.

Take care,
Dan & Tanya

Bill or Mike, would you set up an album for the 2010 Langley gathering please?

Thanks.

Barry,

Many thanks for posting photos of our escorted trip into the Langley Marina. Between you and Robbin (video youtube) we're able to see how R-MATEY looks out there on the water. Thanks, too, for coming to Bellingham and doing the 2010 inspection and helping us with the GPS/Radar, etc.
