Chim Chim, my pal

Bill,
I started to write what I thought our dogs would say to you at your loss of Chim Chim, but there's no way to do it without sounding too cutesy and anthropomorphic. Here's what I wanted to get across, in my own words: Dogs, like people, don't have much of a say about what kind of situation they are born into. They have even less of a say, in this human-run world, over how they live. Many good dogs have sad, short lives. When a dog finds herself in a family that loves her, with a master who loves to be outdoors, enjoys the company of the pack, and cherishes the glimpse his dogs give him of the world that only they can see and smell and hear -- well, that is one lucky dog. Here's to Chim Chim, and here's to you, Bill, for giving her a great life.

Sorry Bill

I've known several friends who have had to put their companions to sleep. I know how difficult it is, having seen their emotions. I have often thought how difficult it would be for me, but my time may be coming soon. I've had my miniature poodle since he was five weeks old and he's now going on eleven.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know exactly how you feel. Makes me just that much more aware of the precious time I have left with Shadow. Time will ultimately heal most of the sadness and you will be left with the wonderful memories we all treasure. Joe.

sorry to hear of your loss. We have two mutts running the house and have become very attached to them. Looking at your pic's i can see they were very well looked after ... i some times hear comments of our trips or lack of them because of the dogs but their with us 24/7 ... hey they rule .. take care ... wc
