Just posted a couple of photos on my new power mover that has simplified my getting the 22 cruiser down my driveway and into the garage. I could do it with my truck, but have a shared driveway part way out, and sometimes the neighbor's son has his car parked quite close to the property line. Also, there is not a lot of room to manuever the truck once the boat starts entering the garage, so the power mover is saving a lot of front tire wear on the truck when trying to jocky the boat into it's area in the garage.

Very cool! Probably a lot cheaper than my Kubota tractor too. Bet it doesn't have a backhoe though! Rolling Eyes

Yep thats pretty cool. I have to turn 90 degrees and go across the backyard. I couldn't do it with the truck.

Two I'm aware of:

http://www.powercaster.com/

http://www.powermoverinc.net/

I've a PowerCaster PC-1, works fine for my 22 on relatively level ground. It gives me a bit of trouble transitioning from my gravel driveway to concrete garage lip - I need to place a couple shims under the trailer tires to smooth things out, otherwise the tire spins in the gravel when the trailer tires hit the lip.

Given the relatively small price difference between it and the larger models, I'd probably get one of the larger ones if buying new - found a good deal on mine used.

Mine is a Power Caster. I cut the 1 inch handle off of it and replace that with a piece 2 inch square tube. I kept bending the 1 inch tubing . I have had to replace 2 motors. The first time I was moving the old boat around to the front yard I had a wheel chock to stop the boat so it didn’t go down the slope of the front driveway. When the front axle hit the wheel chock it jumped over it and the second axle smashed the wheel chock. Suddenly I was guiding a 6000 lb runaway boat down the driveway. I looked down and saw the power cord come unplugged as it reached its maximum length. Ok here we go, the motor begins to windup and then the governor explodes. The boat finally comes to a stop out in the middle of the street. I’ve got to buy a new motor. The second time I was out in the street thinking to myself that driveway doesn’t look that steep the Power caster should be able to go up that just fine. So I hit the power switch and up the driveway I go. Everything was working fine and then it happened, the wheel started to slip, I was losing traction. Now what am I going to do, I let off of the power switch and I’m having flashbacks I was guiding that 6000 lb boat back down the driveway. The motor picks up speed, the governor explodes and the boat comes to a stop in the middle of the street. I’m thinking I have got to buy a new motor @#$* I would like to build one that has 2 or 3 wheels and a floor jack to raise the tongue, someday, it’s on my list.

Mikey Thanks it’s a nice place to work on things.

Interesting that this thread came up. I just listed our TrailerTug on Craigslist this week. It is a gas powered Tug. 6.5 hp ,hydrostatic transmission, moves 10,000 lbs. pushes our 25 around nicely. We just don't need it anymore since we rearranged our parking. I am putting picture of it in our folder.

How well do you think it would work on 100% gravel?

Warren,
I think it depends on the whether the gravel is soft or hard packed and finessing the unit . I had to learn that "rocking" the load before trying to push or pull it helped keep it from burying itself, which I did a lot while on the learning curve . It has knobby tires so it really gets traction. I found it really has plenty power though.

Great thread here. Man, it is great to wake up in America again and have my C-Brat fix at DSL speeds again. Life is good.

Joe: Please post the link to the U-tube video of Jody "walking Voyager" down the hill for either the first of second time. What a great way to start the day with a great laugh provided by a fellow C-Brat. I can almost hear Jody's conversation with self on that second time down the hill. Mr. Green

It immediately caused some flashbacks of my own.... and as to keep this thread on track...kinda sorta.... and on movers.... I will make a post named something like Great to be a C-Brat in America... Hope to see yall there.

Byrdman...still laugh'n. Smile
