Harvey, Thanks so much for thinking of us
Some inquiries have been made about the motor length. It should be a long shaft. However, there is a C-Brat that we know and who was able to use a motor with a short shaft ....after he borrowed a saw to change the configuration of the motor mount.
We've never had any problems with leakage or the valves. This dinghy was made in Korea before the company changed vendors.
Able to stand up in it without it tipping. Very safe and secure. |

I do like this part:

I would like to find an inflatable seat for mine instead of the wooded one.

Stacy and I tried out the R-Matey dingy at Nanaimo last year and were really impressed. If we had not already picked up a dinghy at the boat show we would be first in line for this one...

I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread, but, what is the make of kayaks you have ? Ann & I are in the market.
You let us paddle them around Pirates Cove a couple of years ago. They tracked pretty well. _________________ Terry, Ann & Chloe

Terry:
The kayaks are the Necky Manitou Sport model. We like them because they are stable, track well and are short enough to easily carry on the 22.

Stacy and I are hoping to run across you and Ann this summer - hopefully in Bellingham. Let me know if you need any other info.

We carry an Innova inflatable kayak on C-Cakes, 25 lbs, comes in its own backpack and with admittedly little experience, seems quite good. _________________ Patti and Barry

Thanks for the info Jon. I checked out the link to the Necky Manitou Sport. I like that it has a molded in keel for better tracking and the bow is raised for a drier ride. But that is sure a pricy little sucker. I've checked out the Old Town Loon and the Pelican Pursuit, both around $300.
We will be at Bellingham then heading to Desolation Sound for a couple of weeks and stopping at Montigue Hbr on the way home. Hope to run into you guys. |

Look at it this way - whatever we talk about in this thread keeps it up at the top!
So, Terry - where can you find an Old Town Loon for around $300???? I see them on the web starting at $449 and going up to $749. Post a link for an Old Town Loon for $300 and we might consider it as a serious alternative to the Pelican Pursuit 100s we are getting close to ordering! _________________

Didn't I see that Ken (B~C) is selling his Old Town Loon's? Look up his thread on "I bought a new boat".

I may have miss spoke I think it was an Old Town Otter at Sportsman's Warehouse for $329. I can check on that price if your interested. I also checked out the Perception Rhythom 11 at Dick's for $450. It is a nice step up from the Old Town. It is the same boat as the Dagger Element 11.2. They both have good reviews.
I have not seen one of the Pelican Pursuit 100s myself, but they look like the best deal for the money. |

We have paddled Russ and Toni's Pelican Pursuit 100s, and loved them (well, you know, really liked them, never "love" anything that can't love you back, as Patty likes to say). But we are open to being swayed!
