Any C-Brats cruising between Kingston, Montreal, Ottawa and Kingston in September?
We're planning to run down the St. Lawrence River to Montreal from Lake Ontario, then go up the Ottawa River to Ottawa, returning to Lake Ontario via the Rideau Canal Waterway.

Ah, we did that cruise a few years ago - how delightful. Sure would enjoy being back there with you. You can read some of the tales of our cruise on www.geocities.com/bill_fiero - look under the Canada tales. Have a great time, you will be on some beautiful water. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

As it turned out, we decided not to cover as much territory as we expected, going only halfway to Montreal, and coming home three days early because of a forecast for gale conditions on Lake Ontario.
Nevertheless, 540 miles later, we really enjoyed our two weeks on the mighty St. Lawrence River. Which we hope shows through in our blog:

Thanks for the kind comments, Jim. I just wished I paid closer attention to the C-Brats posts earlier in the season. It would have been great to meet up with you here in Ontario.

You were just a little late for the weather. We did the Rideau loop - from Pine Tree Island down the St Lawrence, up the Ottawa, down the Rideaux, and back down the St Lawrence - during the first week of September and had perhaps the best weather of the entire season. Nothing but clear blue skies and calm winds. Fantastic!

I accidentally double posted, then tried to delete the second post, but could only edit it. How does one delete a post? |

You're right, we did have two bumpy days and one surfing day, but otherwise we were in shorts and T-shirts the entire time except for the last day, September 25.
By the by, Patrick, are you saying you did the entire triangle in one week? Cosmic C must have been smoking!

Yes. Would have liked to have taken longer, but the Admiral had to get back to work. Although we averaged a little under 60 miles a day, we did serious traveling only on the first and last days of the trip when we were mostly on the St Lawrence on waters already well known to us. |

My "Canadian Triangle" will have to be Victoria / Vancouver / Nanimo for just a bit longer! But I can hardly wait to get back there in a couple of years with no schedule! _________________
