Hi Brats,
I know that I can't say much because I have no pictures to show. However, I dearly love to look at the new and updated albums that show up every day.
Scenery, fishing and travel albums need little more than a title, or where you are to be immediately captivating. However, boat mods, updates, rebuild or engine works are not so easy to keep track of, or even know what I am looking at. Maybe I am enough of a Luddite that I cannot get from a gallery pix to a thread where that pix might have come from, and then see it in its appropriate context. If so, please, somebody help me! Otherwise, can we start to be a little more verbose when it comes to introducing new photographs?
To give an example, and only because it is the latest that I happened to look at: Tortuga, please forgive me for I mean no disrespect; it is obvious you are doing all sorts of interesting things. Anyway, your slides on motor lifts, obviously modified with your own additions of red line features, important to you, have no interpretations. What are they all about, and are they important me as an uninformed Honda owner?
I enjoy looking at mods and innovations, and designs for better cruising, if I can tell what they are when they are in a boat unfamiliar to me. They might be useful in my humble 22, even from a 255TC, if I could tell where they were: head, galley, under the floor, etc.
Anyway, I'll keep on reading the albums and enjoying vicarious travel on other peoples' gussied up/fine tuned/well honed C-Dories. Thanks.

Rod,
I totally agree with you on the description of the various pictures. Sometimes one has no idea of what you are looking at particularly the modifications.
Also.........I notice that you do not have an album for your boat. Contact DaNag or Tyboo, no. 2 & 3 in the member list, and they will set you up with an album. _________________ On the HIGH TIDE-II, wife Carolyn and I.....Another summer fishing on the HIGH TIDE II in the Cook Inlet at Cape Ninilchik, Alaska.

Things get scarce during boating season.
You get a lot more detail in the winter months _________________

Jeff,
You are right on. In the summer boating is cruising/fishing/partying etc. In the winter boating is done on the trailer and/or in the garage doing mod's and repairs and just dreaming of the coming summer. That allows for a lot more info on pic's.
Looking at your album makes me realize how we miss out on the CD gatherings and cruises up here. There is nothing like that here. Just fish like hell in the short summer, winterize and cover the boat for the 7 month "sleep" and then do it all again.

These are good points -- and something that would add to the value of the archives. The stuff in my miscellany album have typically been linked to a post that explains the various arrows etc -- but I agree -- when looking at the images as an album they are meaningless. I'll go back and try to make some sense out of it! Thanks for the comments.

All,
It seems the general bent in this thread is that too many of the pictures in the albums lack explanation.
I'm sorry but I don't agree.
Though a relative newbie compared to some, I have gleaned a multitude of good and some really great ideas from the albums and will continue the practice. It takes work and peoples time to post all this stuff, especially the albums. It is imposible to know when posting, what others may at some time wish to know about a picture.
Anyone wishing more information than is supplied simply needs to utilize the private message function or regular E-mail to get answers. The Brats are an awesome bunch at helping others out.
I can't say enough in support of this forum and the way it functions.
I'll get down off the box now!
