I just saw this rack system advertised in Blue Water Sailing today. Looks like it could be useful on C-Dory's. There website is www.sailboatrack.com Didn't see any pricing on the website but looks like a nice system.

Interesting design. The pricing on the site says between $799 and $999, so not inexpensive. Then you'd have to add any accessories (cargo box, kayak rack, etc). |

I have been "racking" my brains trying to figure out how to create a stable rack for my 22' Cruiser. I have scoured all the posts dealing with this topic. I have been looking for rail mounts to either make a rack using stainless tubing or adapt an old Yakama rack that has been sitting in an out of the way place in my garage. It is a gutter mount from an old Isuzu Trooper.
I cleaned off the dirt and spider webs and began to play with it. What a dumb --s I am. With a little adjusting and careful placement, the Yakama rack WORKS WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING!!!! It sits on top of the cabin and hooks onto the handrail. Tighten and its on!!!!!!!!!
If you look in my Swee Pea album, page 6, there are pictures there. I can't believe how dumb I am. Now if I can track down the Yakima basket that I had ..... or did I give it away to my son ...... gettin old.
