After lurking on this great site for over two years, renting Marc Grove's 25 Cruse Ship for five days, following the ads, and more recently attempting to deal with the financial market setbacks we finally have a CD 22 Cruiser.

The deal was closed on Monday when we completed the purchase and took delivery of a 2006 22 cruiser. The Honda 90 has less than 50 hours, the boat has a Garmin chartplotter/sonar, Icom VHF, hightop, gray accent, shore power, King bimini and swim platform. The trailer is a Magic Tilt aluminum tandum with dual axel disc brakes.

The sea trial went extremely well even in choppy water. The trip home with our 2003 Tundra was outstanding. Took Dr. Bob's advice and checked temps of hubs and tires every couple of hours, no problems.

Now just have to sell the 2002 20 foot Lund Alaskan dual console with Honda 90 and Shorlander trailer and full canvas.

The bad thing is that my schedule is full until Sunday when we hope to get the boat out for a day of cruising local Lake James or Watauga Lake.

Her name is "Placid C". A big part of our decision to find a 22 cruiser was this great site. Thanks in advance for your input to all the questions I am sure to have soon.

Harper

Congratulations! When we bought our 2006 22 cruiser this site was a huge factor and it remains a primary source of information and entertainment. Hope you have many days of fun ahead.

Congratulations and welcome aboard as an owner. I've seen your posts here and kinda knew this day was coming for you. Two years is quite a "gestation period"; hope you have as much fun and adventure with your new boat as the rest of us.

We'll look forward to some reports and photos!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Wonderful!!!!! Just in time for spring cruising and fishing. Are you near the ICW? I think the C-Dory is the perfect boat for that waterway.

cool, those Lunds are sure nice boats, you're going to find the bodies of water that you're used to boating are much smaller now. It doesn't seem to take nearly as long to get across the lake when you're riding in the elegant luxury that is "C-Dory". I had to remind the spouse the other day as she was telling her brother (who is about to buy a small, old, open glass boat) to put it at point X because it not a very long ride to point Y that it isn't a long ride for us but it would seem to be in an open boat.

enjoy

Jim,
Thanks. Your thread "Adventures of Wild Blue and Crew" is a big part of this forum and also a large influence on our decision. Hope you will continue to provide your unique perspective and humor even while you are traveling on the hard surface. I know I speak for many of us when I say that we truly look forward to it. The proof is in the number of "views" you attract.

Thanks much.

Boris,

We are on the complete opposite side of the state from the ICW, I can walk to the Tennessee State line in about 45 minutes. We do plan to cruise the ICW however along with some of the major rivers.

Ken,

I already understand what you mean. When we were doing the sea trial it was really windy with spray blowing on the cabin windows. I put the bow down with the trim tabs (really impressed me) and leveled the boat up with them and had a comfortable ride at 15 mph. The same ride in my Lund would have been tiring, bumpy, wet and cold.

Thanks Mike,

Photos are posted in album. I think I need to experiment with resizing. I took them down to 320 X 240 pixels and that may be too small. Is there a size that is recommended, I didn't see that discussed?

Hi Harper: Saw your new 22' Cruiser over on the Casita Club website, that's a good spot for it, now everyone will want one! Anyway, congratulations on your new '06 cruiser, you're going to love it.

Well, my 2002 Lund Alaskan 20 sold today. Had it listed on Boattrader.com for several weeks and had gotten a bunch of calls and emails but none of them turned out to be serious buyers. Today, a nice gent and his wife drove from Tenn., brought cash and took the boat home. I feel a little uneasy selling the boat without his doing a seatrial but he said he would take my word that the boat was running good in November. I feel confident the boat will do well. Put new fuel and Stabil in the tank in November. Now that makes our C-Dory an even better deal.
