Found a product (303 Aerospace Protectant) that works wonders on plastic based materials. keeps salt water from rusting stainless steel. Use it as a fiberglass protector. Use as a teak oil etc. Check it out at: http://www.303products.com/ |

I believe that is the same product I have used on my 33 year old Old Town Canoe, made of Royalex, (basically a vinyl covered co-polymer) and it still looks new.

The guy who did my camper back recommended 303 Aerospace Protectant for the clear vinyl.
He said never use soap of any kind on the clear vinyl, just water than apply the 303 product.
Used it about 3 times last summer and the vinyl windows stay clear and pliable, seems to work great!
It’s hard to not soap them down after a salty trip, but he said just resist the temptation and the vinyl will last much longer.
I spray it on than smooth out with cotton cloth, than just leave it to dry; next day the vinyl looks like new. _________________ Jay

The other commonly used product on vinyl winds in Lemmon Pledge, a furniture polish (!!!)
I know that it works well, too. I have never used the 303 on the vinyl windows, though I have some, because it use it on my Sunbrella canvas.
The 303 is the officially approved protector for Sunbrella acrylic canvas fabrics, which is a very big endorsement and probably a real sales and income generator.
The person who runs the 303 operation lives about 5 miles east of me in Redding in a small community called Palo Cedro.
Here's a LINK to all their products and descriptions. (No, I don't know this person!)

When I purchased my Inflatable (DuPont Hypalon) I contacted Achilles for proper care products. They had only one suggestion and it was 303. When I researched replacing the cracked vinyl dash-cap in my '79 Toyota 4X4 I again found 303. It seems that it's all about UV protection. _________________ Pete

Please remember that there are two 303's Aerospace protectorant--which is used for vinly, gel coat, leather etc. The second is "HighTech Fabric Guard". don't use the Aero space on Sunbrella, and the Fabric Guard on the vinly!
There are also a number of 303 cleaning products. _________________ Bob Austin
