In my planning (dreaming) for a life afloat I'm torn between the CD 22, the CD 25 and the Tom Cat. (Especially if the cabin redesign happens with the new profile up on top. I'm just a newbie but it seems like an awful lot of topside volume is lost and a lot of sun and heat comes in with the stylishly raked back windshield.)

I've just about worn out the C-Dory web site flipping back and forth between the boats but there still are no line drawings nor mileage tables posted for the CD 25. Anyone know where I could scare up the measurements and drawings?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

PS Decisions, decisions. I like the fuel economy, trailerability and beachability of the 22. On the other hand I can buy a big truck to pull one of the big models and I like cats on principle. And I don't know how the volume of the CD 25 shakes out in comparison. See above ... Smile

Hi, Steve. Hey, I've got nothing for you regarding your question, but I have another question. Tell me a little about life in the DR with your 16' Angler. And is that where you will you live/cruise in your new C-Dory?
Inspiring minds need to know.

Hey, Catman,

I don't have a boat, therefore the "wanna be owner" handle. I think when I signed up maybe the 16' angler was the default!

I "retired" early (when I was 38 I sold our business) and in 1994 we moved to the D.R. to work as full time, unpaid volunteers for a year. Ten years later we are still here ... weird, huh?

The boat (probably) would not be for over here in the D.R. My guess is in the next couple of years we will have to move back to the states to care for my 80 year old in-laws and I think the boat is my subconscious way of compensating for the loss of a life we have come to treasure. (We do love the water and wildlife watching.)

Steve

P.S. I really enjoy monitoring this site and I am learning a lot about how to trick out my C-Dory ... whichever one it turns out to be. If the in-laws were not going to be with us then I would be there for the Seattle Boat show to meet you all.

Steve, My wife and I will be in the D.R. for spring break. I don't have the specific dates yet. We will have a little free time (I hope), if you would like to get together. We can dream about wild adventures in a C-Dory. Rolling Eyes

How about that? The modern-day way to meet people. The Pub's like a dating service, only we don't date, we rendezvous.

Hi Steve,
Back in '65 I enjoyed (?) Thanksgiving in the D. R. courtesy of Uncle Sam. Not only did I spend Thanksgiving there, I spent quite a few days there before and after Thanksgiving.

The only "fun thing" I got to do while there was to spend a day snorkling in that warm clear water. The rest of the time was not as delightful.

Dave? You're a paratrooper? Why'd ya keep it quiet for so long?

I'm too old and set in my ways to start dating again. But thanks for the perspective, it gives new meaning to the C-Dory "Gatherings" Razz

Here are some preliminary numbers from my last trip on my 25 C-Dory with a 135 hp Honda.

15 mph 3500 rpm 3.2 mpg 4.8 gph

18 mph 3800 rpm 3.1 mpg 5.2gph

20 mph 4000 rpm 2.9 mpg 5.8 gph

We are working on a line drawing.

Thanks Scott. You don't really take too much of a hit mileage wise with the 25, do you? Interior measurements and drawings would be very helpful. Now about this rumored re-design of the Tom Cat ... Care to comment?
