Just returned from a two month trip up to Princess Louisa Inlet and the Broughtons. I have posted some of the images from that trip is anyone would like to see them.
Great cruising and fishing!! Mostly good weather except for the fog around Queen Charlotte Sound and Telegraph Cove. _________________ Peter Jones

The photos indicate a great trip to beautiful places and the timing seemed ideal. Have you been up there before?
I hope to go to those areas sometime in the future. Thanks for sharing!

Always wondered what that dock at falls looked like. Have never been there when there wasn't a sea of boats tied to it. |

This was our first time up there - but certainly not the last. It's a magical place.
Best approach if you are on Vancouver Island is the ferry from Courtney to Powell River/Saltery Bay and then an over night at Egmont marina. Great little marina where you can catch ling cod right off the dock - nice restaurant and store, showers etc.
We were planning on crossing the Straits of Georgia from Parksville, which is the most direct crossing from Vancouver Island, but looking at the weather pattern it appeared that there would be a fairly good NW blow on our return. So we made the long crossing by ferry. As it happens there was and we were happy to be on the ferry instead of crossing in heavy seas - or waiting it our for 4-5 days.
The ling was caught using a jig with a salmon belly. |
