Thanks, Jay -- looking forward to seeing you folks on the lake later in the month. We return to Bridge Bay today from CO. Some smoke from fires -- one (LeHardy Fire) about 10 miles from the marina, but smoke is blowing the other way. Real bad over by Cody. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

Jay - Presume you are following the long range forecasts for Yellowstone Lake. No snow but temps dropping below freezing at night starting Thursday evening. Early Indian summer. You mentioned before about bringing firewood. I'll load the old diesel up with extra firewood, so between the two of us, the group should be able to enjoy some campfires.
For those of you coming who are new to Yellowstone Lake, a few comments. Bridge Bay Marina is in a very protected bay with excellent facilities. Am assuming you all have shore power. Each slip has its own hookups with both 20 and 30 amp service. We use a small ceramic heater for heat rather than our Wallas. Cheaper and more convenient. We also use small electric plates for cooking and mini coffee pots. Several nights will have hard freezes (temps in the 20s), which means frost on the docks, but don't worry about your water tanks freezing since the ambient temp of the water will keep things cool but not frozen. Liquids in your pickups may be another matter. Ice will last quite well in your icebox and coolers. And something good about the cold nights. Virtually no bugs. The forecast for Thursday says about 30% chance for moisture. The other days look sunny.
See you on the lake. John & Edna _________________ hopelessly addicted C-Dory user |

Jody - It was a pleasure boating with you and visiting on the dock. When you get the urge to head Yellowstone way again, give me a heads up and we will get after the lake trout. We had one last night, and it was excellent. Take care. John & Edna |

Jo-Lee and I had a fantastic time of it. What a great combination of people and place for wonderful memories. If the rest of the group is still up there or at Jackson Lake we will be rejoining them this holiday weekend. Roger and Mary Jo with new transmission arrived at the Marina late Sat. We had to pull out Sun morning so very little time to share with them.
Had 35 photos I would have liked to have posted of the gathering, but ran into my usual frustration with photo posting. Allowed one photo up then only "No resizing required
Error: Invalid image:" or "sorry you cannot access this file directly" message on the photo posting pop up page. My frustration max level has been reached for now. May try again another time.

Ida Belle - encourage you Cody folks to come up to Yellowstone this weekend. Would like to meet you. Can't guarantee the majority of the flotilla has not moved on to Jackson Lake, but perhaps not. There should be slips available. At about $23 dollars a day ( including shore power and water) and world class docks (what a bargain, believe me) it is too good an opportunity to miss. Hope you can join us. Yellowtone John |

Yes, Ida Belle, come on up. We hope to be back Saturday and leave Tuesday. El and Bill, I believe are over in the Big Horn Recreation Area. Don't know if Steve and Karen joined them or not, but do know El and Bill plan on being back to Yellowstone Lake Friday night or Saturday morning. I see on the SPOT map Roger and Mary Jo have been down to Cody and a lot of traveling around the Park today. They are now at Old Faithful. With Yellowstone John and us coming back the only ones missing from the scheduled gathering will be Jody and Edna. I think the present group in Yellowstone plans on leaving for Jackson Lake perhaps Tuesday. They wanted to skip the Holiday crowd and confusion at the Coulter Bay ramp.
Jody, I agree, the photo inside the cavern did turn out well. Really liked the photo's you posted and I would sure appreciate the DVD copy you volunteered. Will PM my address to you and though it might take a while will send you a copy of ours too. Sure would have liked to see you back in Yellowstone this weekend holiday too.

Home from Yellowstone Lake this evening. Jo-Lee not feeling well, so went up by myself. Great time, but big change in the weather.
Had a fun time around the campfire out at Eagle Bay even with the snow.
This morning it looked much better. Still cool with highs in the upper 40's, but the sun was warm and had a good morning around the fire listening to the elk, cyotes and birds and then a smooth boat run to Bridge Bay to take the Hunkydory and Mokai out and head for home.
Rogers and Mary Jo's gremlins continue to haunt them. They had a flat tire on the MotorHome and these motorhomes don't have spares now and of course none available in the Park or during the Holiday anywhere else, so Steve and Roger to Jackson today to pickup a tire.
El and Bill are now on Jackson Lake. I accompanied them there and with the Tetons in view we said our goodbye's. The rest of the group was planning on joining them tommarow.
Had a wonderful time and looking forward to the next gathering.
Added a few more photos to our sub album of the Yellowstone Gathering.
