Any chance we can get some of that Excellent Snoqualmie beer I missed out on at FH for our potluck?

I've got you down with the harbormaster for a slip, so you are all set. We will have a list of slip assignments but if you can't raise any Brats on 68, just go on 66 and talk to the harbormaster -- they will have the same list we do.
Bob, and anyone else interested in commenting, which 3 boat manufacturer/models would be on your short list for cruising down the west coast from Alaska to Baja (nonstop from the U.S. to Cabo) and on to the Panama Canal? TrawlerFest is the place to dream, no?

Now why would you have to go and ruin it for me?
OK, let's say that the boats have to cost less than $750K. I don't know how realistic that is, but it's a starting point. Obviously, people have sailed across the Atlantic in sub-20' craft, so technically you could do the voyage in any boat, given sufficient stupidity on the part of the skipper. But let's be realistic and value-conscious.

Warren,
I'd have to go with a Kady-Krogen 46 North Sea, providing it had stabilization. A few available around your price point. _________________ Roger

Warren,
My current choice would be:
A 40' Eagle Pilothouse Trawler
http://www.fridayharboryachts.com/eagle/e40/e40.html
I just love the lines of this boat. It's low slung and salty looking and appears to be quite economical.
The big PLUS is that it cost only half of your budget so you could buy two and give me one!!!! _________________ -Sarge

Anacortes bound Brats,
I just signed Nancy and I up for this gathering. We will be coming up by car on Sat for dock walking and the pot luck dinner.
If Roger (SENSEI) is done farming, he and Lisbeth will be coming along also. _________________ Larry H

We're signed up and have been looking forward to seeing all of you. Due to an aging parent's health situation, we'll have to miss this one. I hope we see many of you later this summer.

Larry (and Roger, possibly) -- Looking forward to seeing you guys here on Saturday! Here is an update on the weekend:
We have been assigned a group of slips on the opposite site of the marina from TrawlerFest. We will be near a building on the east side of the marina with rest rooms and showers, and also near the Anacortes Yacht Club.
Dinner on both Friday and Saturday is at 6:30 p.m. Friday it is at Gere-A-Deli, 502 Commercial Ave.L@@K HERE for the menu.
Saturday morning we will have coffee, juice, pastries, etc. on the dock. You are on your own to enjoy TrawlerFest or to go cruising on Saturday.
Saturday evening at 6:30 is the CBGT potluck at the Anacortes Yacht Club, only a short walk past the rest rooms and showers from our slips. A BBQ will be available if you would like to grill burgers, tube steaks, chicken, etc. You can also use the very small kitchen, which includes a standard size range, to prepare your potluck offering. Ice will also be available, as will disposable utensils if you forget to bring your own. I'd appreciate help cleaning up the facility after the potluck is over.
Sunday morning at 9 a.m. we will all congregate for breakfast at Island Cafe, 701 Commercial Ave. Following breakfast you are on your own to hang out with the Brats, visit TrawlerFest, go cruising, or to head home.

Very nice -- but I can't tell what the cruising range is. Maybe there will be one at TrawlerFest.

My boat would be the older Nordhavn 62--there is a "cheapie" available, listed at only $950K.... In the newer boats, probably the Nordhavn 47, but that will set you back at least 1.2 million, with goodies....
Unfortunately many of the newer trawlers are not as fuel effecient as I would like--this comes from making the boats shorter and fatter, with less fine lines.
On the other hand, the best boat for this passage, was one I owned--that that is a Cal 46...
See you all over there. I will leave Sequim about 9 Am Friday. _________________ Bob Austin
