|

Although not mechanically inclined I decided it was time to begin doing a few simple maintenance tasks (got a big bill from the Honda dealer). After changing the oil and filter I wanted to grease the fitting in the tilt/trim. Unfortunately, the hydralics steering bar is in the way. I was told to get 90 degree fittings. The NAPA dealer must have a half dozen sizes. Does anyone know what size fitting would go in a Honda 90 four stroke engine. Does anyone else have this problem. Am I missing something simple. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

williamsburg-
No problem.
Just take one of the existing fittings off with the appropriately sized wrench and take it down to NAPA to get the 90 degree fitting with the same sized threads, which is the most important issue.
They also make 45 degree angled fittings if they would work better, so you need to check out how many 90's and 45's you might need.

Thank you for the information. The fittings I looked at came 5 to a box for about $4. I don't recall a stainless designation but will make sure I get the proper kind. Really appreciate your help. |
