From what point on a outboard do you measure to determine shaft length?
15-20-or 25 inches. Does the 22 C-Dory take the 20 inch shaft?

Are you talking about Main Engine(s) or a Kicker?

I always thought it was from where the outboard mounting bracket would meet the top of the transom down to the anti-ventilation plate. That's a good question, can't seem to find a good reference source. _________________ Steve & Carmen

Charlie: Im talking about the main engine for my Classic. Have a chance to buy a year old four stroke, from a out-a-town owner, but we don't know shaft length or how to measure.
The transom of the Classic is 20 inches. C- Otter. |

C-Otter,
Yes, a 22 Classic uses a 20 inch motor. A motor is measured from the top inside of the transom bracket down to the anti-ventilation plate. (That's the first plate above the prop.)
A boat transom is measured from the top of the transom down to the bottom edge where the transom meets the hull bottom. _________________ Larry H
