Best windless for 8 plaite

My windless will not work with 8 plaite. It bunches up at the pressure finger. Don’t want to go all chain

So wondering if there is a windless that works with 1/2 in 8 plaite?
 
You may want to look at Maxwell Windlass'.

I am looking at the horizonal free fall unit for my 22' Cruiser.

Don’t know if this is the best windless for 8 plait rode, but the Lewmar 700H windless with 1/2 inch 8 plait & 1/4 inch ACCO chain has worked great for me during the last 11 years, while being used extensively. Also this is what Lewmar recommends to be used in the 700 H.

We used the Lewmar 700 horizontal windlass with the 8 plait on my last boat without any problems. I ordered the chain and rode from Lewmar when I purchased the windlass. they seem to be made for each other. I have not had the need to adjust anything but you may want to contact Lewmar and see if there is something that need to be done to make yours work properly. Good luck with that, I'm sure you'll get it ironed out
