So i was doing my maintenance on the 27 and had a new problem. I did the lower unit fluid and engine oil change then pulled the prop to check on the seal and re grease the hub. Well the hub insert fell apart in my hands. I have a honda 4 blade by powertech with a cushion lock hub??? Well I called 5 places and showed it to two more and they had no idea what it was. I always end up with the odd ball stuff. POWER TECHs web site was of little use . They show my prop but not my hub. Well I ended up calling the prop shop in Mukliteo. Thats the prop shot not the prop shop ltd. Any how they knew what it was and had a spares for sale. Toke it in and they showed me how to do the replacement, really easy.

So if you have a power tech prop and a cl at the end of the Serial number then call the prop shop in mukliteo.

And I was dreading to ever have to field replace my Flo Torq center. It's a piece of cake compared to the Cushion Lok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ocRT5mLHoc

With the Cushion Lok, use a rubber band to hold 5 little black pieces on this side, 5 little black pieces on that side, and 4 white pieces??? Yikes, I'd have to have several replacement kits on board to make up for the pieces that I would drop and sank or floated away.

It was simple really. You could not do it with out the rubber band. I was just dreading having to find the part. Thats why I posted the info about the prop shop. They were the only one that even knew what I was talking about.

They repaired my S/S prop and lower unit skeg after my brother hit a rock outside Deception Pass. Their service was awesome and their work top notch.
