We still have our first boat, a 14' Sea Nymph and plan to start using it more often and looking at entry level fish finders like Garmin Striker 4, Raymarine, Lawrence 4, all about $100, mainly to check water depth in the canals and help friends and relatives to find fishing spots around Charlotte Harbor and just as a round about to the local water side restaurants and tourist hot spots. Any recommendations? I just don't a high end model and if folks get lost, they can call or use Google maps

I have been using the Lowrance 4 for a few years on my Caracal and found it very adequate for depth sounding and fishing. My first one was a black and white. After the screen was cracked--I "upgraded" to a color screen, and I felt it was worth the few bucks more. But I suspect that any of them would be fine for your purpose. I had a separate 4" Garmin GPS.

Thanks, Bob

I don't need it now and also shopping around for close outs and otherr deals
