Greetings. We had a slant-back cockpit cover made when we bought the boat last Summer. Used EQ's vendor. Recently had a minor warranty issue. Called the vendor to inform him. He called me back, was very courteous, readily agreed to do the repair with no friction whatsoever, and I think I owe him a C-Brat thanks and endorsement. Company is "K-Man Canvas" (Rick) (360)-929-8600. Please consider letting him provide your next canvas installation in the NW Washington area. Mike.

Is Rick one-half of the former Canvas Riggers? I have been trying without success to locate them, I will give this a try...we need some work on Daydream's camperback.

Pat: I'm not sure about his past affiliations but Les or Kathy would know. It just occurred to me that excellent service deserves to be rewarded. Collectively we C-Brats spend literally millions annually on boats, motors, accessories, accommodations, repairs, etc. Getting an endorsement from a happy C-Brat customer would be in any vendor's financial best interest. BTW: I have no personal or professional connection with this particular vendor other than having used him for my canvas work. Mike.

Rick does his work at EQ now -- he is rigging canvas for the Lori Ann as we type. Don't know if he works exclusively at EQ,

Pat,
You are correct. The "other" 1/2 of the original canvas riggers still operates under the same name but has moved to Anacortes just up the road from Anacortes telescope (or near the Casino if that works better). Both do excellent work.

Had hear this from Les, at the time had no address. Patty and I stopped in near Anacortes Telescope, we went through the business park behind there, asked at several places, nobody had heard of a canvas shop in the area, I had a telephone number but calls were never returned, so I thought I was out of luck. Googling it now returns The Canvas Riggers, 9895 Padilla Heights, Anacortes. (360) 299-8016. This is the same number which I called numerous times and got no call back...so if anybody knows anything more about this, we would be most interested to hear.

Pat,
We had our camperback made there last year and were the first boat in the new facility. Haven't been there since so looks like it might have gone under. It was on the back road end of the second wing down from the top.
I'll swing by there next time by and see what's up.
We were very pleased with the result but I also saw the work that Rick did on Patrick's boat and it was impressive.

Yep, Rick has done a few boats for me too - great work, but the line forms up rapidly, so take a ticket!! He did a beautiful job on the new Rosborough going to Bend, OR.

Pat,
I happened to be in the area so I checked on Canvas Riggers. Still there at Padilla Heights just above Anacot\rtes telescope. Building #2 at the end nearest the road. Sorry don't have the number but I remember it changed when he moved from Oak Harbor.
As I said, I have seen/had good work from both of them.
Merv

Thanks, Merv! We will (eventually) be following up with either Rick or Bob, I am sure either one would do an excellent job, if we could just get ahold of them! (In fairness, I haven't tried Bob recently or Rick at all, we can have the work we need done any time, it is not really an emergency).
