Wow - thanks for the kind words - we did get to take it out for a few hours just prior to the storms coming up to Va - winds were around 15-25 getting the wide water part of the lake pretty stirred up - I got my first chance to use all "4" windshield wipers - I ain't believe how quiet the Cummins is and just how smooth it runs.
I'll be bugging you guys with a few technical questions but thanks again for the welcome - likewise, if any of the forum members have any questions about R/C helicopters or would like a complementary copy of our magazine in PDF format - just PM me or drop me an email at: [email protected] - I can send you the PDF file (9 meg) or a password to download it from our site.

Mike, congrats on the boat, hope it's everything you wanted.
BTW, I've flown R/C helicopters, as someone once told me, it's like
"driving a car with bald tires down an icy mountain road at night with no headlights"! At least it was for me. I never got much past the stage of hovering one while wearing a beach towel around my neck for protection in case it started in my direction! I have seen folks hover upside down and go under tables with them. Amazing!
Have fun when the storm passes, it's still blowing down on the Bay here.

The boat is great. What I love is the picture of the Ranger 25 in front of that great BIG MOTOR YACHT. All of a sudden the Ranger makes even more sense. And I'll bet gets used a lot more. Beautiful comparison.

You are a lucky man. Good luck with your new boat and it is a beauty.
I have the truck but a real old 22' C-Dory but I am also patient.

That's the first thing I said when I walked up for the sea trial - funny thing about it though, I can do just about everything he can with mine - except I get to take mine home and don't have to pay dock rental. I also get around 14 MPG with on long trips (behind the truck)! |

Congratulations IdleUp! Our R-25, Moondance, is our first boat. We couldn't be happier. It doesn't hurt that sailboat owners, and large M/Y owners are constantly telling us what a great boat she is.
Cruise on! |

Idle Up,
Congratulations on your new Tug. She's a beauty and it looks like you've got all the extras. I noticed those bars over the aft cabin roof, is that for kayaks/ dinghies?
Sorry I got a bit fired up over your early posts. Don't know what I was thinking. At any rate, it seems you've really done your homework on this new addition and I wish you many hours of joy aboard!

Thanks again to all on the warm welcome - yep, those bars are exactly for what you thought, for carrying a dingy or whatever. I'm very fortunate to be able to walk out my back door and take her out - we've been out on three 1/2 day cruises breaking her in - lots of fun and the sailboat guys are waving me down to ask questions.
Thanks Again! |

That outside interest seems to come along with ownership of most C-Dories and Rangers. I usually get to the lake Thursday nite, but got tied up this week and did not get there until about noon Friday. There were four people at the harbor cafe waiting for me to show up so I could show them the TomCat. On top of that, I got pulled over by some Jet Skiers while cruising who also wanted to board and tour.
In our area, a trailerable boat that is economical to operate, able to run throughout the winter, and still have all the creature comforts is a bit rare.
I actually had a deposit down on a Ranger 25, when they were first out, but the slow speed (of the first models out) and the lack of available diesel year 'round here in the MidWest, forced me to go back to the TomCat. I am happy with the TomCat, but still drool over the unique flare and warmth of the Ranger 25s.
Out the back door??? Oh my.... what a dream,

Hey Dr John,
I was checking out your Toma-hawk images - pretty nice ride, I was also drooling over that beautiful electronics installation on your boat as well. Very, very nice! |
