Just got word... Sad ... Shipment delayed till 7/8 Sept... Crying or Very sad

Well, this will give me a little more time to save for the toys.

I am glad that the crew at CD look after the quality of their work. I am sure the wait will be well worth the test of patience.

Congratulations on your new purchase, Art. I suspect that the last two digits (05) of the 405 that you mentioned is the year of the model. My 25 footer was hull #53 and is now 1 year old. I'd imagine your boat is somewhere between 60 and 100. Just a minor detail that I thought worth mentioning. Looks like the 25's are starting to catch on. Mr. Green Welcome to the pub and let us know if you have any questions or comments. I sure like my 25.

Good luck getting to sleep, Art. Shoot, even I'm excited about your new boat! Congratulations!

Mine hull is 006. Or did they start the count over when they changed the manufacturer's code to CDO from DOR?

Art, just for you I broke all the nerd rules. (Not to worry, Da Nerd is somewhere north of his computer right now, so I won't get in too much trouble.)

Since you are so far from seeing this fine vessel that you are about to entrust to some hard-drinking, lead-footed, half-awake truck driver, I fixed it up so maybe you can get a picture of her before she hits the road.

Right here is a new photo album called Sea Angel. It is set up with you as the album owner, and two other outstanding CB members having the necessary permissions to post pictures in it. Those two people are none other than C-Puffin and Boatguy. Word has it that they know some folks on the inside at C-Dory and could probably sneak a photo or two of your boat and post them here.

So, let's get to working on these guys and get a look at this boat!!

Hi Larry & Mike;

Thankjavascript:emoticon('Very Happy')
Very Happys for the encouragement. I had a very nice call today from Jeff, at CD.....
He explained to me that the boat was heldup due to a change. Seems they have added an extra layer of glass to the hull. It sounds like she will be a little heavier and stiffer, which is fine with me. The Ches. Bay can give you real ride , right out of the blue at times. They have also reworked some of the cabinetry.[ I don't know just what was changed here.]

Jeff said he would try to get me some pixs of the helm/electronics area to help me plan my toy selections. I was going to buy the ICOM 602 or 502 and mount it on the top shelf, but found it is only 4" below the roof line... It will have to hang under the shelf.

We talked abt the Garmin 2010C and how much space it took at the helm. I hope to see that pix. A lot of electronic sales are starting to showup here, so I want to be prepared to take advantage of these. I must have some sheckles left to stock to frig with cold sodas for the USCGAUX patrol crew, when I get her wet.

The HIN as I have is CD025075H405. I assume from the thread that the '...75.. is the 75th CD25 off the line, and not the month/year [July/05] of manufacture. I always thought the last 3 digits were the sequence number. Maybe you could clarify that for me.

As to PIXs, I will start to send them when I can get some. I do have a pix of the same model and color as what I ordered, but it is just not the same.

A fast thought for which I did not do any homework on your earlier threads. How and where did you guys mount your transducers?? If you used a thru hull, how far forward di you place it? I did add air cond. and the Wallas Stove to the Sea Angel.

Agn, thanks for sharing my late life's joy....

Art- Congradulations on the new 25!

Here's what your CDO25075H405 HIN (Hull Identification Number for those who don't know the term) translates to

CDO C-Dory, formerly DOR

25-25 foot model

075 hull number in the 25 series (75th made)

H 8th month of the year, August

4 4th day of the month

05 2005 model year --Used to be year made, I believe.

Hope this is correct! Joe.

Right on, Joe. I think the date is referred to as "Date of Certification", but is almost always the manufacture date, as well.

If you're bored, here's a neat read in our Documents Forum that I believe was originally found and shared by Mr. Cheers Bob: HIN 101

Sooo... according to my fuzzy math, the factory is producing a 25' approximately every 2 weeks.

Hey Charlie!
It is still in Kent awaiting a lost driver with a broken truck to haul her to the right coast! The radar is still in my check book, along with all else but the radio and hailer.

She sure is pretty though.

The boat shouldn't be in Kent awaiting shipping. Should be in Monroe, WA. about 30 miles NE of Kent, which is where the 25s and 27's are made.

August 4th? That's a special day in the maritime world...Aug. 4, 1790. Hey your boat was built on the Coast Guard's birthday! How's THAT for a bit of trivia? Hope you enjoy her!
